Stupid hose question

Post by jds2001 » Tue Mar 14, 2017 7:14 pm

I have the Respironics heated hose that's 6 feet long. Is there any way to get a longer one? I can't seem to find any heated hose longer than that, do they not exist?

They don't exist as one hose.
How much more length are you wanting and why?

A foot or 2, my CPAP is on the floor and the length sort of restricts my positions in bed. It's not a huge deal, but it sure would be nice if such a thing existed!

You can stick a 2 foot hose on the end but it won't be heated. If condensation or comfort is a problem you could add a hose cozy to the 2 foot hose.

Now there is a 6 foot stand alone heated hose that could be tacked on but that makes for a 12 foot hose.
The Hybernite is what we call a stand alone heated hose. Heat is either on or off and no thermostatic control at all.
I know of one that will likely be available for cost of shipping if you are interested. Long story and I will explain if you are interested...send me a PM.

I have a child's desk chair that I place my CPAP on. Keeping the machine below the level of the top of the mattress reduces machine noise.

I have never felt that a CPAP machine should be placed on the floor-a floor location will be more likely to draw in dust and dirt. I suggest that the machine be placed on a support of some sort( Table, step stool, box, you name it) and this will still allow condensate return and will increase the useful effective length of the hose.

My wife and I have matching cpap nightstands. The machine sits on a slide out shelf and has plenty of room in the bottom for storage. The machine sits below the level of the bed and cannot be pulled off like it could if it sat on top of the nightstand.

I have a 2 drawer nightstand. I keep the machine in the top drawer. At night I mask up and close the drawer. That eliminates any sound from the machine.
