'Sleep hygiene' as my tech calls it is very important, a few times I blamed my machine or mask when I felt rough or tired, but it was more likely that I had too much alcohol, or drank some strong coffee just before going to bed, or maybe stayed up to watch a late night movie then had to be up early for work in the morning.

It makes a big difference to a lot of things when you get it right, it's just hard breaking habits and getting into a new routine.
