overnight oximeter test. insurance wont cover.

Post by moreorless » Wed Mar 08, 2017 10:56 am

they wont cover it. the company who does the test dont accept my insurance..

so i am not going to pay for it.

i still want to buy my own over night oximeter. that way i can test my oxygen levels on my own at night and get results. I can wait on it. i definitely would be buying one in future though.

............
i see it on ebay.
some links
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Wrist-Pulse-Oxi ... SwGtRXxPzQ 48 bucks run 24 hours. this is the one to test overnight with. or similiar brands

other links
http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R4 ... er&_sop=15
i dunno i brought a 10 dollar one to test in morning or when ever i want and i get good results. they one i still used.
but the one i have to get is for like 24 hours straight.

no experience in overnight ones but i wanna buy one.
anyone have a good brand they like?
thanks

The one you found on EBay is a good brand and a good model. Sometimes that model can be found coming from China for a little less but not a lot less.

CMS50F is made by Contec and it's a well known good brand of pulse oximeters.
If you search for that specific model and find it elsewhere for less you might save a few dollars but you won't find it much cheaper. It's not like you can find it for $20. You might find 30 to 35 plus shipping.

But as for brand and model...that one is a really good model and will do what you want and is compatible with SleepyHead.

Use a company that does accept your insurance.

Your much better off buying one. One night is not very useful, especially if your levels are good that night. That's what happened to me. Mine was $100 for one night. Didn't know you could buy them at the time.

CMS50F (wrist unit) or the CMS50D (finger unit) are both excellent units and will do overnight recording AND work with Sleepyhead. It does you no good to buy the cheapest stuff on the market if it hasn't been deemed accurate. Anyway, I do think it makes sense that if they were recommending overnight oximeter that you DO buy your own meter and do it yourself as you can do it several times.

I do want to say though that just because your insurance company doesn't pay for something doesn't make it not worthwhile. But this one is an easy fix, and you can redo it in the future whenever you want without additional cost.
