distilled water in Israel ?

I need distilled water for my CPAP humidifier. I cannot find distilled water for the CPAP humidifier in Jerusalem. Instead I found i distilled water for ironing clothing only which the pharmacist says is not fit for the CPAP humidifier. What is the alternative?? Anyone can direct me to find distilled water for CPAP machine?

I don't know why distilled water for an iron would be different fro the distilled water you use in your CPAP....have the pharmacist explain it to you. Meanwhile, you definitely can use clean tap water or bottled water, but you will need to clean your humidifier tub often.

The pharmacist is ignorant of the facts, and is either trying to sell you a much more expensive alternative, or cover his fat ass.
Bottled drinking water will work just fine, preferably not mineral water.

When we were in Denmark in September I was told the same thing. I bought the distilled water for the iron and it had a kind of funny sweet taste. The next day I did more research and went to the pharmacy and asked if there was a difference in the distilled water they had and what I had gotten at a home goods type store. She said it is indeed different. I got the distilled water at the pharmacy and used it the rest of the trip. Since then I have read several times on here that for trips out of the US it is fine to just use good quality water you would drink. Then when you get home wash your humidifier tank out with vinegar and water mixture and you are good to go. That is what I will do on future trips.

It would be nice to say that water from Jerusalem is holy, so it doesn't have to be distilled.

Unfortunately, there is no relationship between the former and the latter.

Any water that is safe to drink is safe to use in the humidifier, except if it is carbonated, flavored, or colored. However, you will need to clean your water tank (and everything else on the CPAP) much more frequently.

Seems that when I travel to areas that are very humid, I hardly use any water from the humidifier.

I've wondered if I'd be any worst off just not using the humidifier if its only for a few nights.

Guess I'd actually have to try it to see what happens but have any of you done that and if so, what were the results?

That's always an option. When I travel and use battery power, I don't use my humidifier and do fine for a few days. Each person would have to try for themselves hopefully before traveling.
