ResMed F20 Mask, Sizing, and DME

Post by andycole » Sat Jan 14, 2017 11:10 am

Went to my new DME who is part of my sleep study lab about an issue with FFM's and dermatitis. I have dermatitis/psoriasis and sleep on my right side. I have serious rash from lower right strap running from my cheek around to the back of the head and a cut-up cotton sock offered no relief. They had no answers but suggested I try an F20 since the headgear is different than Quattro Air (L) I'm using or my old F10 (L). But it seems they only have small and medium - told me they would have to special order a large but gave me a medium to try. 2 of 3 nights were disasters (1 leak lasted 55minutes). While I do like the changes ResMed made why would DME have to special order a large??? Anyone with dermatitis/psoriasis have headgear issues and how did you resolve them? May have to stop usage until rash can be cleared up - dermatologist just did 80 patch tests and only 1 (cobalt?) was marginal. Pulmonologist thinks it is psoriasis and not dermatitis - he is ordering some tests also.

Padacheek.com liners wouldn't work as buffers?

Julie - the rash extends all the way around to the back of my head. Cut up cotton sock to reach from gear contact point on cheek around head to approx. mid neck area.

Because that particular DME doesn't stock them??

I would imagine it would cost quite a bit to stock every mask with every size, there are quite a number of them. Some are less popular than others as well and some sizes are not as popular as well.

My DME does not stock my mask: Fitlife Total Face Mask in the extra large. I have to wait 6-8 weeks to get the mask. As Krevlin said, they don't stock unpopular masks, specially in a weird size.

I work for a DME company that provides all types of CPAP masks made by RESMED. We carry all sizes. We order the F20 Large back on 1/19/17 and we are being told that Resmed won't even receive the product until mid March. Which means as of right now I am having to wait over 2 months to receive my product. Every time I call them about my order i keep getting told the date is getting pushed back.

Think resmed is making a change in the product or just running low on stock?
