Help Me Please Need Advice
Help Me Please Need Advice
So I've been on the CPAP for the past 5 years, I remember once when I use to wake up and feel like I had 12 cups of coffee and I was ready to take on the world. I did have a sleep study done last year and was given the new resmed airsense 10. I have lost 40 pounds since last year if this makes any difference. My fiance is reporting that when I sleep my breathing becomes very rapid like I am almost hyperventilating, she says that I breathe in and out very very very quickly. I do not know what is going on. All I can say is that even before my new cpap machine I have felt like crap, I always have purple circles underneath my eyes and I am always tired. I was also diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes and am working on changing to a healthier life style. I downloaded sleepyhead and see that I have a resp rate of 50 which seems really really high if someone could please look at my chart from last night and just tell me or give me any ideas of what they think is going on if anything that would be amazing. What doesn't make sense to me is that my AHI isn't that high......

Re: Help Me Please Need Advice
I'd suggest reducing the EPR by one and seeing if that makes a difference, then possibly 2.

Re: Help Me Please Need Advice
That respiration rate is well above what is expected. Have you shown your doctor the graphs etc. from SleepyHead.
Perhaps something else beside apnea is going on and your doctor should take a look.
Congratulations on the weight loss and the move to a better life style.
Weight loss can have a beneficial effect on apnea, especially obstructive and hypopnea events, so keep that up.

Is that even possible? My median last night was 9.zigg wrote:resp rate of 50
Re: Help Me Please Need Advice
I can't tell what your resp rate actually means. Can you add your resp graph to your post.
The 50 means that you hit that as a max and 95% of the time you were at or most importantly BELOW that value. Though with a median of 21 you do want to look at it.
Reducing your EPR could be a good start.

Re: Help Me Please Need Advice
You are including graphs that aren't particularly useful and omitting graphs that are maybe useful.
Please review the examples in this thread
viewtopic/t103468/Need-help-with-screen-shots.html
and how to organize...there's 3 pages read all three pages.

Your Flow limitation graph is a bit ugly...not horribly ugly though. I don't know if that's part of the problem or not.

Re: Help Me Please Need Advice
OSA and/or Cpap might be the problem, but I would see my MD asap just in case they're not... if you do have known or unknown cardiac issues you want to find out immediately and not depend on the internet for speclulation.

I would include your Resp Rate chart for now. It's not something that is normally an issue, but Something is going on there, I'm not seeing a correlation with anything.
