Re: paper tape leakage with Resmed Airsense 10, heated tube
I would think that is more of an issue with facial oils on the skin. Try rubbing the area with rubbing alcohol and let dry before applying tape. I've done that before using nasal strips.

Re: Higher AHI with Dreamwear?
No I am not using the side pads. What is wrong with them? Dreamwear only comes in three sizes, two inches length between them. I must fall between them. I use the adhesion of the frame to the skin to keep the nose cushion in place. Otherwise it rides up. I had worn Dreamwear for a couple months bef...

Re: Res med 10 with no serial number
If the machine had prior registration on MyAir you will not be able to re register it. I just bought a backup Autosense 10 from a guy who works for a DME with under 1,000 for that price and he clears the serial number on the MyAir registration. I don't see what removing the registration sticker does...

Re: new battery technology for CPAP during blackout?
You would be better served by discussing it with my dog.ColinP wrote:palerider, you seem to have some knowledge on the topic, would you care to share that with us? A simple 'No it doesn't", while accurate, doesn't really advance the discussion at all.

AHI, chasing numbers
Or will I be able to sleep at night after looking at the data. I started cpap in August with a Resmed CPAP. Doctors recommendation was 7cm. Sleep test results at 7 & 8 were about the same. I wasn't happy with the results and decided to go with 7.8cm, raised the start pressure to 6.4 and reduced the ...

Re: new battery technology for CPAP during blackout?
The 20,400 mAh Omnicharge battery is $300 and has many other uses (like powering laptops) so even if it only lasted for half the time of the ResMed battery, it would still be a better value due to its other uses ... that is assuming it works at all. Assuming that follows the standard for lithium ba...

Re: Oxygen Concentrator and DME Company Problem
I wanted to give back a concentrator to a DME and they wouldn't take it without a doctors orders. While they may want to scare you, I doubt they would actually force you for legal reasons.

Re: Regarding starting CPAP therapy
You at least have a good start coming here. Your doctor and suppliers won't help you. Don't get stuck buying or renting a machine that won't take data. Generally any machine that will auto adjust is suitable like Resmed 10 Autoset. In one location I don't use humidity at all, in another it is a must...

Re: Help Been a Cpap User for 7 Months
Go into the clinical menu and turn on PLUS. This will give you AHI, centrals, etc and leakage by day week month. That will give you a start at some diagnostics. My card reader won't read either of my two machines SD cards. Most libraries have computers that will read SD and you can transfer that dat...

Re: Higher AHI with Dreamwear?
Hope you are not using the side pads. I've had about every emotion possible with Dreamwear. When I started I had to go through a ritual of adjusting. Everything had to be perfect. Two months ago I thought it was getting too old and wouldn't conform to me. Now I just slap it on and hit the pillow.

Re: Started on Craigslist - Now need a real machine
resmeD, if you don't sign up for their monitoring, then nothing gets sent, you don't pay anything for it, if you want it. If you buy a used machine from someone that works for a DME they will likely reset the serial number so you can use MyAir. If bought from a private person, get them to change th...

Re: Blue Cross FEDERAL
I have BCBS Federal and don't even bother with it except for expenses other than doctor related. When my deductible evaporated at the beginning of the year, I turned in my rental and bought a very low hour upgraded version 10 AUTO for about half of what my deductible would be for the year. I also ju...

Re: Recommendations for a back-up full face mask to my DreamWear
I wear Dreamwear too. I am a medium, but I was fitted with a large and used that for a month before finding my right size. When I have nasal problems I switch back to the large. Just something you might try when you are on the edge of a major problem. I am also looking for another mask for those tim...

Re: Resumed clap with humidifier for sale
I wouldn't start out by saying you paid $1200 for it. Everyone starts out CPAP not knowing very much. You get wise pretty fast when it comes to money. I turned in a machine from rental for a better used low hours Autosense 10 for not much more than a couple months rental would cost me. Saying how mu...
