Re: High heartrate and capped upper pressure

I would like to nominate this post as the initial entry in the sticky "The Best of dataq1". Thanks (but I don’t think that will be helpful to bbridge) Wrongo!! Very helpful!! Now they know you have NFI what you're talking about!! So your advice to bbridge is to NOT ask her doctor to check out unusu...

I’d recommend that you ask your doctor for a Holter monitor to see what’s going on.
Agree, look particularly to rule out Proximal AFIB.

Re: Precise Meaning of MIN and MED

Choosing the appropriate measure depends on the context and the nature of the data. If outliers are present, the median may be a better representation of central tendency. However, both measures provide valuable insights depending on the situation.

Median is not affected by extreme values.

That's why your brain woke you up - to make sure you get over that obstruction and breath out properly. No mystery.
If so (obstruction only affecting exhalation) might have anticipated choking - too much air - rather than gasping (too little air). But whatever, ….what goes in must come out.

Re: Woke Up Gasping

Sure. Unless there is a significant leak , the volume of air inspired should be close to that of the volume expired. In your beginning three breaths of your original post the volume of air exchanged between 21:04:36 and 21:04:40 is fairly equal between Inspiration and expiration. ( the area under th...

Re: Woke Up Gasping

Referencing the chart in your original post,
What I find to be significant is that your expiratory volume is significantly less than your inhalation volume. If the flow curves are correct, air was accumulating over many breaths (11).

Re: Inspire and hypoventilation

How could it possibly help? Exactly. What I understand is that the INSPIRE delivers mild stimulation to the tongue nerve to prevent the tissues from becoming flaccid. If a patient is not experiencing airway obstruction, but rather "shallow breathing", stimulation of the tongue will accomplish nothi...

I make it a practice to be very skeptical of what the marketing/PR folks say about their product.

Inspire and hypoventilation

I can understand the theory that stimulation by an Inspire device may control obstructive apnea events, but the effectiveness of Inspire to control hypoventilation (non-obstructive)/ hypopnea events seems (to me) to be dubious. Should Inspire be considered for a patient with 90% non-obstructive even...

Re: Upgrading The Defunct Resmed 2G/3G Modems

So like I originally said, you don't have a clue about MyAir. Several forum members seemed to think that their clinicians were using MyAir, but that is probably incorrect. That is the CLUE that I offered in the first place and that was the principle point I wanted to make, to avoid confusion. Appar...

Re: Upgrading The Defunct Resmed 2G/3G Modems

Dogslobber: No misquote, here is what you said: You are completely wrong about what MyAir is. Nothing dishonest about that at all, it’s EXACTLY what you said. ***************************** Clinicians and DME use AirView. Personally I don’t use MyAir at all, but when I set up originally the app requi...
