Weakness Weight Wellness

Post by Heartsandrocks » Wed Jan 18, 2017 12:31 pm

I have been on my machine for 2 weeks. Resmed nasel pillows titrated 8 to 14. I was diagnosed with severe apnea.Downloaded the app resmed my air with scores of 96 to 100 for 2 weeks now.. How long before i will get my strengh back. I am experiancing severe weakness. My Weight is 380 and ive had sleep apnea for years. The doc says it will be easier to get the weight off once my body adjusts.
I finelly decided I better do something before I die. How long will it take on the therapy machine before I start to feel better
and I am able to have the strength and energy to get excersize. I am only 55 and not ready to die. I can already feel a huge difference in my mind alertness and im not tired/sleeppy any more. Please help. What can I expect in the coming months.

In 3-4 months, I went from not being able to jog 200 feet without getting winded
to chasing the dog for two blocks before catching him. --And not being out of breath.
That said, it is different for all of us. Apnea is often only a piece of the whole picture.
I am presently feeling like a new person with tight control over my t2 diabetes.

You are already seeing the benefits in that you WANT to do something.

It can take anywhere from a couple of weeks to a year to perceive more benefits, it all depends on how much damage there is to repair.

Cold, hard facts: You are 55 and weigh 380 lbs. You should discuss the "severe weakness" with your doctor. In your condition, it could be a sign of something ominous. An internet forum is inappropriate to address this situation. We do not know your medical history and the results of any health exams you have recently undergone. Good luck.

Thank you for your replies chunkyfrog. I feel like im getting stronger every day.I am looking forward to not being so tired and being able to have more energy. As for the other chicago granny comment. Your a rude bitch and if you read the post you saw I have talked to my doc. I dont need to explain myself to such a rude ass person who tells me I dont have a right to post whatever the hell I want. I am looking so forward to my new life with this machine you or no one else will bring me down. I do have questions and you should not give advice unless its positive and helpful. With that said ...... I thought everyone felt tired and fuzzy headed like me. I was shocked the first night I used my c pap machine my head was clear wow like night and day. I know after so many years of sleep deprivation it will take time to heal my body. I have enjoyed reading peoples experiences it has helped me realize I am not alone in this and all the symptoms I have been experiancing for years finally have answers. I am glad I am on my way to WELLNESS

Some people do lose weight after starting cpap but this isn't always the case
I wonder if Dr's tell you it should make you lose weight just to make you work
harder at using cpap.
I started using cpap 1/25/2007 and have used it 6 to 8 hours every night . I
weighed 302lbs when I started using cpap and weigh has gone up and down
some but still averages about 300 lbs. In general i feel so much better and
my memory at 66 years of age is better than it was 10 years ago. I still
don't have much energy but I don't blame that near as much on sleep apnia
as being 160 lbs overweight and the type 2 diabetes that gave me.

As for the other chicago granny comment. Your a rude bitch
First of all, it's You're*. If you're going to insult someone, correct grammar would be a good place to start. Second, I saw nothing that ChicagoGranny said that was really rude. The majority of us aren't medical professionals (I don't know, I'm sure there's one or two). At 55 years old, weighing over 300 lbs, the likelihood of it being a serious health issue are much higher than it simply being an issue with sleep apnea.
