Moisture build up on face using full face mask.

Post by y08hci0299 » Mon Jan 16, 2017 1:11 am

Anyone ever had the discomfort or having the moisture build up on your face when using a full face mask? Is there anyway to prevent it or do you just get used to it?

Hi,

Usually a sign that the humidifier needs turning down a little - go into the menu and lower it by one notch - try it for a couple of days then another notch if needed.
Good luck

As ynot suggests it is likely your humidifier it too high. Turn it down a little

If you are in a humid climate, you may not need the humidifier at all.

You didn't tell us what equipment you have. Is there moisture in the hose also? Any clicking or gurgling sounds? Sometimes if there is a big temperature difference between the room air and the machine air, or even sometimes our own exhaled air, condensation can form. If you have a heated hose you can turn the heat up. Use a hose cozy or wrap the hose in fleece. Place the machine a little lower than the bed and experiment with the humidifier settings to determine what your nose needs.

The moisture could be coming from the moisture in your exhaled breath and may not be related to humidity setting at all.
Our breath contains moisture and it can condense just like the moisture added by a humidifier if the conditions are just right.

See this thread posts number 2 and 3 for various ways to reduce condensation.

You have several options...reduce the humidifier setting....increase the air temp going to the mask to make condensation less likely to occur....increase ambient room air temp.....and if nothing helps you can add a mask liner to help absorb the moisture to at least make it less annoying.
