Room Humidifier

Post by Tesseract » Sun Jan 15, 2017 8:52 pm

I had sinus surgery a long time ago and actually have been out of work all in 2016 due to migraines getting triggered by dried out sinuses and allergies. My ENT has told me not to use CPAP because of this but my sleep neurologist says that I can use it again and not have headaches if I use the right kind of room humidifier but she did not make any suggestions. Just to breathe I need humidity of like 50 to 60 percent or my sinuses get really dried out. Even on max humidity, the cpap machine with humidifier can't give me enough moisture because of the sinus surgery I had. Does anyone have any suggestions for a good room humidifier? I tried the ultrasonic type but they produce white dust unless you use distilled water. I'm going to try to a honeywell HCM-350; the one with a filter and a UV light to kill germs.

I use the Vick's cool air humidifier during the winter when the furnace is running and drying out the house. Cool air humidifier is supposed to be germ free. This is my 3rd winter season with it and has worked well for me.

Good Luck!

My wife has seasonal allergies and uses the Vicks Warm air humidifier to supplement the furnace humidifier.

Do you have your CPAP machine sitting near a heat source or in the air flow from a heat duct?
