I do feel your cosmic angst. I'm a virgin coming up on my first six months. I already bought a replacement mask on my own on the internet since it was cheaper than my copay from the local DME I got set up from. Needed a spare because you never know when the dog might think it is a chew toy. Now I would like to get another spare hose, mask and humidifier. I have no deductible built up yet this year and don't know this stuff applies to it and maybe I should wait. I call up the insurance company and they seem to know less about it than I do. I tried to be an informed shopper when I first got the stuff, just a nightmare of insurance codes. Well, got another month at least I can avoid doing something. You have to spend money to get an education. I learn fast that way.

TOTALLY AGREE! This is exactly how I feel. And I want to say thats the same situation I was in when I first started treatment. Got my own unit, paid for the card reader.... in the olden days we didnt have fancy schmancy cell tower equipped modem dohickies! LOL

My current fear is the DME pricing is going to be so outrageous that its similar to paying out of pocket on cpap.com... Thats going to be super annoying if it becomes true.

Oh yeah my machine is over 18,000 hours... definitely long overdue.

We are still a free enterprise system and I dont care about the health insurance company language
But for some reason you are not thinking ahead?

WHY would you not already have the RX from the first machine? You don't need to get another one, it's not like an RX for a narcotic.

I not only have a copy of my last RX but copies of my sleep study etc along with all other medical records, labs etc. I don't need to go back and get another one later as I already have it.

I filed my CPAP RX as soon as I got it with cpap.com so that down the road if I need something they already have it. They don't need updated ones.

The DME is too much of a pain to bother with.

What the hell?? Krelvin from what I understood I had to have a fairly recent RX... yet another scam bc all it was was a chat with my Sleep Doc... Are you still on it? Its working? Good. Heres a new RX.

Last time I attempted to score a machine via insurance 2015 I also had to have a fresh RX...

I swear this whole thing is a scam!

If you are not buying with insurance your last RX will be fine with just about any online retailer.
