Trouble w/Humidifier on AirSense 10

Post by lwieland11@gmail.com » Fri Jan 06, 2017 12:55 am

I refill the humidifier on my AirSense 10 every night before bed. I wear a full face mask. Humidity setting is at 7. Still, my mouth and nose are so dry. What could be wrong?

If it's empty the next morning, then it means it must be working. Otherwise, try to put the machine on warm up mode for several minutes, then remove the humidifier, and see of the metal plate is warm.

You are mouth breathing...the full face mask helps with your therapy, but not with dry mouth.

I am mouth breathing too, have a full face mask too, and have the same machine.

I don't have a dry nose and mouth in the morning, when the humidifier is working (and tank is not empty).

Too many other variables to make a comparision.

lwieland1, dry mouth can be caused by many things, medications and medical conditions, and the increased air through the mouth may increase the dryness. If the humidifier is not enough to counteract the dryness, try to prevent it. I used Orajel for Dry Mouth before bed and kept a Biotene Spray at the bedside in case I needed it at night. I rarely needed the second spray but it was always better to have and not need it than to end up with cotton mouth.
