Dreamstation - clicking - problem solved - begins again
Re: Dreamstation - clicking sound - problem identified & solved
I went to the supplier and they suggested it was a hose problem. They switched hoses but still the clicking noise prevailed.
They swapped the humidifier and the noise stopped.
A new humidifier has been ordered for me - they have not had this happen to anyone else - I am unique!

Thanks for reporting back snoozysue, so many people don't Also: let us know how the new humidifier works out and if there are any differences to the filter mount that you can see.snoozysue wrote:I went to the supplier and they suggested it was a hose problem. I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.
Re: Dreamstation - clicking sound - problem identified & solved
After a few months I started having the same problem. It is the door of the humidifier. The pressure change during inhaling/exhaling is moving the door and it clicks. I fixed it temporarily with tooth picks. I'll try with Sugru for a more permanent fix. Thanks.
Re: Dreamstation - clicking sound - problem identified & solved
Once my humidifier was replaced (under warranty) I am am pleased to say all the annoying clicking stopped and it has not returned.

Again, thanks for letting us know that (and how) the issue was resolved.
And a happy holiday, lovely weather, etc. to all.
I am so envious--you Aussies are enjoying summer while we are freezing our buns off.

Good to know. I guess if I have this problem I will know what to look for. Also, there might a workaround like putting something over the door until the replacement arrives.snoozysue wrote:Once my humidifier was replaced (under warranty) I am am pleased to say all the annoying clicking stopped and it has not returned.

You know, the same thing happened to me one night early days (I'm still in early days, but earlier days!).
Thankfully it stopped as quickly as it started - it was very annoying!!
At least I now know what was causing it!!!
Next thing is to try and get the auto screen dimmer to work as it does with my rented machine...!!!

Good Day;
On my wife's machine the filter setup is fine; However there is a small bezel surrounding the hose receiver on the lid that when touched, replicates the click. You can move it back and forth to hear the click each time. I'm hoping that is the concern with hers, and I'll try a bit of tape to hold it more securely.
Cheers
Jake

Re: Dreamstation - clicking - problem solved - begins again
My new replacement humidifier has been working great for just over 3 months (same amount of time as the original one). Unfortunately the clicking sound has returned!
I rang supplier but they have gone home early as we have a national public holiday tomorrow.
I rang Philips and was told to take it back to supplier (what I presumed I would have to do) but was told that this is a known fault in approximately every 10-15 devices.
I was told "don't worry, every time you get a replacement humidifier your 2 year warranty starts again!"
That is great but I expect that they will last longer than 3-4 months.
I will ring supplier on Friday (after public holiday).
