Problems with AirSense 10

Post by lwieland11 » Mon Jan 02, 2017 4:20 am

Anyone have any problems with the AirSense 10? I've got the moisture set on 7 and still my mouth and nose get so dry during the night. I use a full face mask.

You might need to use Sleepyhead to see what's going on - your leak rate with a FF mask could still be very high if it doesn't fit well. Be careful about raising the humidity so high - unless you live in a very dry area you could end up with serious nasal or chest congestion.

I'm new too. I spent my first three months of use at camp with humidifier turned off to save battery power. Absolutely no problems. I come home and put humidifier on and nothing but problems with dry throat. Haven't figured it out but suspect it is winter dryness. Our furnace does not have humidifier.
Seeing and believing are often both wrong. FOW

You're more likely mouth breathing that causes dryness and probably should try a full face mask.

I struggled with the same machine and same problem for a year. Found out that it was mouth breathing. Tank wouild go dry even on lowest humidity settings. I started using a mixed martial arts mouthguard that you fit by putting in hot water to soften then bite down. Once in your mouth your jaw won't go slack and your mouth open. If you don't like that solution, you can try chin straps and even tape over your mouth (I find that not real pleasant but it works for some). Your Resmed machine sends therapy related data to Resmed and you can
view it (you have to have a cell signal displayed on the machine upper left screen) at https://myair.resmed.com/Default.aspx after you set up an account.

Once you figure out how to keep the jaw from going slack and your mouth opening, your L/Min value will plummet and you won't have the dry mouth issue anymore.

Wiredgeorge, Sleepyhead gives much more info than Myair. This link will help you learn how to download the free software developed by a forum member. https://sleep.tnet.com/resources/sleepyhead
