Air Leaking Out of Mask at Hose Inlet

Post by NATURAL AIR » Mon Dec 05, 2016 9:36 am

When my air flow gets to max setting, I am awakened by air blowing towards my eyes. The mask seal around my face is not leaking, air is coming from the area the hose connects. Have used the CPAP for a week and this started two sleepless nights ago. Between a dry mouth and air in my eyes I have gotten little rest. Suggestions please.

Most masks have their intentional exhaust vent near where the mask connects to the hose. It sounds like your exhaust flow is bouncing off the bed covers or bed pillow and back into your eyes and waking you up.

Try moving the hose to see if that helps the problem. Some people find hanging the hose helps with this problem. Using an eyemask (the sort for blocking light) can also help.

I had the same problem with my first mask - a Simplus. When I got my second mask (AirFit 10), the first thing I noticed was the air blows strait forward from my nose, away from my face. Way better.

I really like the exhaust mesh on the P10.
Even though it is a pain to clean, there is no equal.
