That's not fair, how would you like it if the animals kicked you out of the bedroom for farting..... Maybe you need a chamber filled with activated charcoal and a filter, to sweeten the air flow. Jim

If it is a pleasant smell, do not complain.
If the thread is really old, it may smell dead, Jim.

I always smell perfumeright after taking mask off. We don't have perfume in the house. It's so weird.

you're smelling your sheets, or the remnants of the soap or shampoo you use. most consumer soaps/shampoos/detergents have scent added.

the nose becomes 'numb' to smells it's constantly exposed to, but during the night, you're breathing air that's coming from some distance away from you, when you take off the mask, you're breathing different air, and it''s got a smell that you soon become numb to and don't smell anymore, until the next night.

They thought it might be the soap I use to wash the equipment, but I smelled the same thing when I took the mask off at the sleep lab. Guess I'm not crazy after all
Exactly the same thing I smell..

Nothing like the smell of old dead threads in the morning, or napalm. Jim

Does it go away after a few minutes? Could it be the dust in the air you were breathing? After your brain gets used to it the smell goes away?

It is possible that you're noticing the ambient odor of your bedroom. You have learned to tune it out over the years. Since your CPAP is filtering it out, you might notice it in the morning when you start breathing unfiltered room air!
