humdification
humdification
Ever since I started using a heated tube on my Respirinics Dreamstation I no longer get any humidification except for the 30 min preheat. I have tried turning up the level for my humidifier to 5 and still nothing.

Re: humdification
with the heated hose attached the dreamstation go into the heated hose mode of operation
So if you are in an aera with high humidity the machine will sense ambient and adjust to that
this is taken for the manual :
" This setting allows you to select the Humidification Mode being used. You can choose
between Fixed or Adaptive (A) Humidification. If a heated tube is attached to the
device, then the device will automatically switch to Heated Tube Humidification Mode.
Fixed mode applies a constant heat on the humidifier heater plate. Under certain
conditions and settings, this mode can allow condensation to occur in the tube.
Adaptive mode adapts the heater plate temperature to the ambient conditions in the
room, and is designed to not allow condensation to occur in the tube."
If you download the Clinicians manual/Provider Guide ... from apneaboard ... it will give you all the options available

If you're not part of the solution you're just scumming up the bottom of the beaker!

Re: humdification
I have my machine set on fixed and it was verified in the clinical menu. I think I figure out the problem, the tube temp setting has to be the same as the humidification setting. Example humidity is 3 tube has to be on 3 also anything less on a tube setting and it wonk work.
