Airing Device Any Good?

Post by Kabuto » Mon Aug 08, 2016 4:14 am

Okay guys. So I've got sleep apnea, but I hate wearing the CPAP, sadly.

Then, I've heard of this device, called Airing, which doesn't require the hose. Is it any good? I haven't heard any reliable feedback on it.

You might want to do a search of the archives as there has been several discussions on it.

In my opinion, it is one of those "If it sounds too good to be true, it is type of deals." My advice to you would be to register for the forum, fill out your equipment profile and use the forum to troubleshoot your issues with pap therapy by providing as much information as possible regarding your situation. You can use the links in my signature profile to download sleepyhead software (assuming you have a data capable machine) and post screenshots to that members can best advise you regarding your therapy.

My thought.... There's no way that something that small with a teeny tiny battery would be able to blow hard enough to open an airway for 8 hours. i just can't see it happening, especially at that cost.

Analysis of Implausible and overfunded CPAP machine on Indiegogo: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=9884345

P.S. It doesn't exist yet - all they have made is the plastic shell, ie, a mock-up. It won't exist for many years, if ever. It won't be able to generate enough pressure for most people or last through a whole night.
P.P.S. Don't risk a stroke or heart damage - use your cpap machine every single time you sleep. There are equivalent masks available now, like the AirFit P10 which when used with a good hose hanger work even better than this thing ever could and are just as comfortable. When the thin, flexible hose hangs down from above, it's not in your way and you forget all about it.
P.P.P.S. You have to throw it away every morning and use a new one every night because the battery can not be replaced or recharged. When you add up the daily cost, it's like buying a new cpap machine every year while the normal life of a cpap machine is at least five years.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

It has been thoroughly test and found to work very well ...

well, yeah, but 1) I figured it'd keep the dummy busy, and 2) that's what the laughing was for...

I was always a little slow to catch on to sarcasm.

Why are you wearing your CPAP, sadly? I've found wearing your CPAP happily, correctly on your face works better. Jim

Chinese entrepreneurs, always eager to jump on a band wagon (even if it is going nowhere), have exceeded themselves: they have copied and are selling something that doesn't exist.

This device, while physically emulating the mock up of the Airing Device that doesn't really exist, is perhaps a truer copy than might be expected - there is nothing inside.

You seem to have it backwards, old boy. This device existed first. Airing copied it and made a scam.

sweet! I like... in fact, it's got more inside than the airing, (filter foam) since the pics of the airing, when examined closely, showed an inside completely empty.
