C (and A) flex is for exhalation relief... EPR is the same thing.

Re: CFlex + and EPR - what is the difference
They are both forms of exhale relief but how they do it isn't exactly the same.
ResMed's EPR exhale relief is a per cm drop for each setting. Fairly simple and straight forward.
Respironics Flex relief (there are several depending on machine and mode of operation) all work off the air flow or in other words how forcefully a person breathes. So the relief isn't an automatic 1 cm drop per setting. One person might get a full 1 cm drop at a setting of 1 but the next person might not get that full 1 cm drop because they simply don't breathe as forcefully or move as much air.
I have used and tried both forms. They each have their own pros and cons but overall they each do a good job at what their goal is.
You have a Respironics machine...I suggest that people simply try all available settings and choose the one that feels more natural to them and is more comfortable and not worry about what the actual setting is.
The goal of any exhale relief is simply make a person more comfortable so that they can go to sleep more easily and stay asleep. Usually comfort equals a better chance of getting to sleep and staying asleep.
