Re: Change BPM setting for Dreamstation BiPAP autoSV
The doctor updated the settings and changed the BPM back to AUTO So we've gone from EPAP (4,15) PS (2,20) Max 30 BPM AUTO to EPAP (4,10) PS (2,5) Max 30 BPM OFF to Tonight's settings EPAP (4,15) PS (2,15) Max 30 BPM AUTO I predict the 'dance' returns and wonder if a 5 cmH2O decrease in PS Max will m...

Change BPM setting for Dreamstation BiPAP autoSV
What happens when the BPM setting on a DreamStation BiPAP autoSV is changed from AUTO to OFF? After many years, we’ve finally made DH’s doctor understand why it is painfully difficult to fall asleep or going back to sleep. DH describes it as the cpap hitting him with a ‘fire hose’ of air when he put...

Re: ASV/AutoSV - Going from Respironics System One Advanced to Resmed Aircurve 10
We picked up the AirCurve 10 ASV yesterday. I'll report back on how it works for DH after a week or so. A related question. Our current equipment note currently says 'Philips Respironics BiPap AutoSV Advanced System One". When I update it so say "AirCurve 10 ASV", will it change the note on all of m...

Re: Resmed Aircurve 10 Auto-Start Feature
Thanks, Pugsy!
We picked up DH's AirCurve 10 ASV yesterday and were told that there isn't an auto-start option. I've just requested the manuals from the Apnea Board for his ASV and my AirSense 10 AutoSet. Anything to help DH adapt to the ResMed after his previous PR System One ASV

Re: ASV/AutoSV - Going from Respironics System One Advanced to Resmed Aircurve 10
Thank you everyone. I really appreciate the ASV user perspective. Pugsy: Can you go into the clinical setup menu area and write down all your setting options that you have available and what the current settings are? Do you know how to get into the setup menu area? It requires the secret handshake t...

ASV/AutoSV - Going from Respironics System One Advanced to Resmed Aircurve 10
Does anyone have experience with going from a Philips Respironics BiPap AutoSV Advanced System One (950P) to a Resmed Aircurve 10 ASV? Insurance approved a new machine and the doc wrote the referral for the Aircurve. It seems like there have been a lot of people looking for machine recommendations r...

Alternative to Philips Respironics BiPap AutoSV Advanced System One
DH would like to know if RESMED or anyone else makes a machine equivalent to the Philips Respironics BiPap AutoSV Advanced System One (950P) that he currently uses. I've looked online and haven't found an answer. Please share the link if this has been answered before in this forum. DH needs to use t...

Re: Auto SV User Needs Help
You guys are great. 'This' is starting to make sense to me. I found a very concise technical explanation of PR BiPap autoSV Advanced in the Atlas of Sleep Medicine page 305 while googling things I learned from all the links and videos you shared with me. https://books.google.com/books?id=LbQKAQAAQBA...

Re: Auto SV User Needs Help
Take a look in the titration study and see if there is any comment on the pressures that they tried. The study report does include a spreadsheet that shows the response to various combinations of EPAP level, IPAP level, and Pressure Support level. Response recorded appears to be Periods (# of), Tot...

Re: Auto SV User Needs Help
Thank you everyone for all your quick feedback. Just knowing that what he's experiencing is common to others and even to long time users, is strangely encouraging. Bons' description of needing to "dance" with the machine and JDS74's explanation that ASV machines can override the ramp setting helps m...

Auto SV User Needs Help
Hi All, There is so much useful info here, my head is spinning. My husband started using a Philips Respironics BiPap AutoSV Advanced System One (950P) 2.5 years ago. It's made an amazing difference, but it is torture for him to fall asleep using it. He has to stay up until he's totally exhausted at ...
