A sort answer - I have developed or have Central Apnea's now, and my current machine an Auto Cpap just isnt able to do anything with those events. My ahi on cpap avg's 30-60 events per hr

longer version if you are bored - viewtopic.php?f=1&t=108165&st=0&sk=t&sd=a

Haha the ones with the feet built in - no did not want to scare the techs.

The test I guess went well, no sensors came off during the night, the tech lady knew what she was doing with the tape and other adhesives - I had a diff non glue type tooth paste type stuff used on my head this time vs a gluey substance.

I for some crazy reason, decided to use a new to me mack - a swift FX vs the Air Fit p10 in medium I brought with me...... the swift fx she said was best fit for me was small/small pillows and well it worked/ did its job thru the night.

It was not like my first sleep study, this one I started right off on a bi-pap machine. I guess she was figuring out pressures thru the night...... it wasn't a tritration or whatever its called I guess it was a mixture I dunno, she did mentioned that I might have to come back again once I do get my new machine to figure out the pressures again? I dunno.

Alls I know is my new sleep dr is nice, shes doing what my old one couldn't and well yea shes actually the one that reads all the sleep studies for all sleep centers in my area and makes the report for the submitting dr's so I assume shes pretty smart too or does it for extra income?..... I know my dr did say that we had to show insurance that bi-pap did not work before we go on to asv if indeed bi-pap does not take care of my centrals. the sleep tech lady did not say much I don't think she was allowed too - but did mentioned I did have events thru the night, and I know when I woke up the pressure was really high!

Just read your first thread! You are a great example of taking control and getting the right therapy. Hope the second study gets you to the ultimate goal.

Even with this "older" basic ASV I cant seem to get my AHI below the high teens.

Seems my pressure needs are up there too like 22-25 90% of the time.

Hopefully with a new machine bipap or some other type of vpap whatever I dont care as long as it works lol.....

the only thing a newer asv will give you is autoasv mode, where it will automatically increase the EPAP.

that could be what you need, raising the minepap above 10.

Good luck!

When I put this 19 pound turkey in the roaster, I shall christen it "metsfan's good sleep doctor, not the bad one."
