Respironics System One series 60 humidifier

Post by pokie101 » Wed Feb 10, 2016 11:42 pm

i hope i did not miss a thread that addressed this problem i am having, most of the topics i seen dealing with a humidifier not working had the flashing humidifier icon, meaning the machine was not talking to or recognising the humidifier. my problem is the humidifier is being recognised, the icon is not flashing and the set up has all the setting i can fiddle with, but the humidifier is just not getting hot at all. i turned off the system one humidifier mode to make it manual with no effect. i don't think i have a burnt connection as the machine is reading the humidifier, and i tried unplugging the machine and unhooking the humidifier, again with no effect. is there anymore suggestions anyone can make or am i going to have to get another humidifier. the recommended place to by is second wind, do i need my subscription for them, because i haven't seen that many years now and i don't have a regular doctor or anything to get a new one. i also cant afford to buy a new humidifier. had to buy the machine i have used as i don't have insurance to cover cpap supplies. any suggestions would be happily received.

thanks

rick

the burnt connection on the plug inside affects it's ability to heat, not the ability of the machine to sense that there's a humidifier there...

in other words, sounds exactly like what's happening to you.

T15 driver, two screws on the bottom. gently pull off the knob, lift off top.

there's threads about it on the forum, as well as pics.

Here is the link on the burnt connection internal to the blower unit on the Series 50 machine.
The internals for the Series 60 are similar.
I had the same problem on a Series 60 machine (ASV 960) and, under warranty, Respironics replaced the blower unit. The humidifier was fine.

ok, took apart machine, was not the connector, nothing burnt or melted. even smelled it to see if i could smell anything burnt. probably just the humidifier from the plug to the hot plate.

thanks again

Glad to hear that. Humidifiers are lots cheaper than CPAP blower units.
