In January I got a new cpap machine. I had the S9 Auto pap now i have the Airsense 10. I have to say this was the best decision i have made to date with my treatment!
I have the heated tubing covered with a hose cover. Use a Resmed Liberty mask. Halo chin strap. I have the tubing and humidifier set to Auto and haven't had any rain out issues like i have in the past, its been great!
Now for the bad. My wife says i keep her up because i am breathing heavy, or when im not breathing heavy there is a lot more noise in the hose compared to the S9 unit. When she wakes up i get woken up. So this is a bad situation for the both of us.
When I look at the onscreen data, my leak rates are 2l/pm to 11l/pm. Im usually consistently under 2l/pm. all my other numbers are under 0.8. I have my air pressure set from 10cm/h2o to 15 cm/h20 and the machine is usually at 12cm/h20 during the night.
I do not have a hose buddy. I have the machine on my left side route the hose over my head down my right shoulder and up to the mask. I sleep on my back as I cannot sleep on my side as I fill with unwanted air.
I am at a loss of what is wrong in this situation.
Thank you in advance for your help.
Hard breathing and noise
Re: Hard breathing and noise
Use Sleepyhead to monitor your flow and breathing pattern to see what is happening at that time with events and leaks. If your wife is waking you up, I would turn the machine off and on at that time to mark when the problem happened. Here's a link to tell you how to get Sleepyhead. https://sleep.tnet.com/resources/sleepyhead

Re: Hard breathing and noise
What changed besides the CPAP machine? Pressure, mask, hose diameter, etc.?
Is the new machine below the mattress level so sound from it is deflected?
Assuming your wife is also on the right, can you route the hose to your left?
A hose hanger may help
