My sleep doctor gave me permission to raise the pressure from 10 cm to 11 cm after I showed him my SleepyHead chart of AHI readings steadily increasing. The increase began before I started taking pain medication for sciatica. That increase accelerated after taking the pain medicine. After I weened off the pain medicine my AHI started to decrease. For the last year my AHI has averaged 0.94. I have observed no bad effects from the higher pressure.
Is there any benefit to lowering the pressure back to 10?
My inclination is to leave it where it is. In other words "If it ain't broke don't fix it". My sleep doctor closed his office so I can't ask him.

Only you can say for sure by trying it out.

Re: CPAP PRESSURE
Depending on what events made up your increase in AHI, were they obstructive or central? It could be your medication caused an increase in centrals and now that you are off of it you no longer need that pressure. Download Sleepyhead and see what events you are having when/if they increase. https://sleep.tnet.com/resources/sleepyhead
Doesn't hurt to decrease it back and see you can always go back.

Re: CPAP PRESSURE
there's not much difference in 10 vs 11... if you're doing ok at 11.... if it were me, I'd leave it.MalabarFlash wrote:Is there any benefit to lowering the pressure back to 10?
