We had power outage this morning....

Post by NMchop » Tue Dec 01, 2015 7:27 pm

The power was out this morning when I woke up...i reached and hit the button to turn the CPAP machine back on and nothing...so i stirred and about then the power went out...I restarted the machine and away I drifted back to sleep.

Seemed like 1 minute. Turns out the power was out from :38 after the hour until 11 minutes after the hour, so 33 minutes.

I woke up late in the deal and the power came on right about when I hit the button to restart the machine and it wouldn't respond. I wear a full face mask. I'm alive...I guess that vent I hated so much when i first began therapy works!

Long ago, I forgot to turn the machine on. (Before I learned to use the Autostart)
I slept for seven hours, breathing through the AA valve before I woke up,
finally noticing I was breathing with effort.

In the last thirty years, I would have needed one maybe twice.
Our grid is crazy reliable, and our rates are among the lowest in the country.
We actually switched three houses from gas heat to electric, saving thousands in rates.
Electricity rules; gas drools!

I once woke up to a power outage...since it was around 6 AM I decided to get up anyway but had the presence of mind to go check the clock to see the time to compare it with the time on the software reports when the power went out. I was wondering just how long I might have slept with the power off.
It was 23 minutes and that's with a nasal pillow mask. I wasn't any any distress when I woke up to find the power off. So I was using the vent holes on a nasal pillow mask for 23 minutes with no additional air coming in.

You might want to get a power-failure alarm. Around $10. http://www.amazon.com/Powerout-Power-Fa ... -off+alarm
