Re: ResMed S9 Elite won't power up - Please Help

That is my hope / expectation. I fired my first DME because they were awful. I've been happy with this one so far - we'll see what unfolds.

Re: ResMed S9 Elite won't power up - Please Help

It's contagious. My machine quit working Friday night. Theoretically still under warranty. I have a call in to Resmed and I'll visit my DME today. I think it's just the power supply. What I don't know is how the process works. I certainly don't like the thought of being without a machine for any len...

Re: Sleep apnea and "Irritable Bowel Syndrome"

There is a connection between sleep apnea and bowel symptoms.

I recommend this podcast. http://doctorstevenpark.com/category/podcast-2 "Sleep Apnea and Gastrointestinal Problems" Podcast # 25.

My sympathies on your struggles.

Re: Started ketogenic diet without initial fast - updates...

I just made some bone broth, and am figuring out the logistics of how to store and portion it. Should have thought ahead and bought a suitable container for freezing some - if anyone here has tricks would be thrilled to hear. Great thread! I'm not doing keto but am doing AIP (auto-immune protocol o...

Re: sleep apnea/vitamin defecent

Yes! For me, sleep apnea is only one piece of the health equation. I'm 100% compliant, my numbers are great, and I'm still tired. I've spent a lot of time, energy, and money pursuing optimal health. I have an auto-immune situation and have devoted myself to improving my diet. This has helped tremend...

Re: Breathing Wrong?

Hi phonebeard, Both aspergians and engineers are very near and dear to my heart. Thank you for your disclosure because it helps with communication. If you haven't already done so you might want to explore the structure of your nose as a contributor to your headaches. Deviated septums and hypertrophi...

Re: Thinking about those with good AHIs who still feel lousy

I fall into that category a bit. In my case it's taken quite a while to determine other causes of fatigue and I've taken some steps.... I had surgery to correct a deviated septum and enlarged turbinates. My breathing is much better. The recovery period messed with my numbers a bit but I'm nearly 100...

Re: Mirtazapine (Remeron) 15mg for sleep apnea?

One of my complicated children took remeron for a while. The specialist who prescribed it told me it was not a great anti-depressant but did seem to work well in some people to help with sleep and also to gain weight (two goals I had at the time for said complicated young person). She also explained...

Re: Deviated Septum Surgery-"Nose Job"

I had a septoplasty and bilateral inferior turbinate reduction done 3/30/16. It was day surgery and I went home the same afternoon. I also had splints rather than packing (packing is pretty old school so you should ask about that prior to surgery). I didn't use my CPAP for the first 2 nights but did...

Re: New to CPAP - opinions welcome

I think I'll start to slowly increase the pressure from 9 You started with a pressure of 6.0 and wisely increased it to 9.0. Your AHI is very low, and your FLs are minimal. Who is telling you that the pressure needs to be increased further? Do you have any excess sleepiness during the day? Nobody t...

Re: New to CPAP - opinions welcome

Is it possible that you rolled onto your back? That tends to make people worse. If you started having flow limitations from the position, then the machine would increase pressure to prevent events (and succeeded). My pressure will spike when I go onto my back, then go back down when I roll over. No...
