IS ONE BETTER THAN THEORY OTHER?
SET CFLEX PER THE DR. POST SLEEP STUDY, SHOWING MILD TO MODERATE SLEEP APNEA, TO 12 PRESSURE AND 1 FLEX. NOTICED BIG DROP IN APNI BUT SOMETIMES HAD TO EXHALE SLIGHTLY FROM MY MOUTH WHEN THE PRESSURE BUILT UP THERE. I USE THE DREAM PADS ON THE NOSE ONLY. NOT A MOUTH BREATHER.
DOES THIS MATTER OR SEEM NORMAL? I THINK THE DREAM MACHINE SEES THIS A SMALL MASK LEAK OF ABOUT 1 OR 2 %.
THANKS.......

Re: CFLEX AND CFLEX+
They're both exhale relief. You can pick whichever one feels better to you or turn it off.
I used C-Flex at a setting of 2 for about 8 years and then decided to try turning it off entirely and wondered why I hadn't done it long ago.

Re: CFLEX AND CFLEX+
CFlex is just the slightly older version of CFlex +...the Plus part was added a little later for more gentler transition during the exhale relief.
I think all the newer machines come with CFlex + or AFlex depending on mode choice.
My first M Series machine many years ago only had CFlex available even in APAP mode but later M series machine that I got had AFlex and CFlex +.
Doctors usually just talk about CFlex or Flex in general and don't even bother with the + part of the description.
I terms of therapy performance the plus or lack of a plus isn't going to make any difference. It's a comfort feature and the plus part just has to do with a gentler transition.

Re: CFLEX AND CFLEX+
Thanks
I can't tell the difference between cflex and cflex plus. Except with either one sometimes air collects in my cheek. I wonder if that is because of some asynchronousity between my breathing pattern and the machine's. Is that an unavoidable aspect of CFLEX? Would using just CPAP be better. The doctor did not know.
It seems to me that the machine can be too sophisticated that the patient does not know if it is operating properly.
I have been trying to see a difference in O2 with a WM 50 or at least confirm that the machine is working. O2 is above 92 all night.
Is the API a good measure?
What would the Sleepyhead software tell me if I could get it to work on the SIM from this machine.
