Then I actually tried it. Chinese Doctor, decades of experience. Absolutely no pain (surprised me!) Very relaxing. Very helpful.
Now, I try not to be quite so critical of things I haven't yet experienced.
Ya, I can be a little "strong" at times . I don't have an issue with it for relaxing people. I just don't believe it has any curative powers, and certainly not for any serious conditions, anecdotes notwithstanding. However the way the thread starter asked they may just be viewing it as something like a massage, if that's the case go for it. But when people start seeking out treatments like acupuncture for potentially life threatening issues such as apnea, that scares me.
Hopefully that's less critical .

If you get in a semi-nude position, and someone spends time carefully doing something mysterious to you that is supposed to help you, many people will
believe it has helped them.
As far as being good for relaxation, it's the only quiet time some people have during the day. So yes, acupuncture may be good for relaxation.

Heart Jumping - I agree. My experience was years before my sleep apnea diagnosis. Wouldn't even consider it for that. Thanks for the response.

My current sleep doctor is always running very late. Last appointment, I didn't get in until 1 hour and 15 minutes past the due time which greatly angered me. Obviously, I have to decide if this is worth my continuing to see her.
Have any of you ever tried acupuncture?
If your current sleep doctor is otherwise working for you, when you call to make an appointment, ask to talk to the nurse for the best time to have an appointment so you don't have these ridiculous waits. I can see once in a while, but a sleep doctor just isn't in the same position as say an eye specialist who may have an emergency appointment. Who has emergency sleep appointments? I think all the doctors at my sleep clinic either work at the hospital or teach at the university medical center in addition to seeing patients at the sleep clinic.

ST,
Thanks, I was talking about my former sleep doctor so this is no longer relevant. This happened even with morning appointments which normally are better with most doctors. One time, I had the first appointment and she was an hour late coming from the hospital where she does rounds as a pulmunologist. Never claimed any emergency.
Anyway, I just think she was simply incapable of running on time and when I reached a point where I felt the wait wasn't worth what she was providing, it was time to switch.
