Hi,
Just got this new. How do I tell if I have the "cleanable water tub"??

Couple ways, but the easiest is the color of the plastic insert on top that is the thumb grip for removing it from the machine......if it's white it is the standard tub.......if it's dark gray then it's the cleanable tub. Also on the front of the top lid right where they come together you'll see "HumidAir" embossed in the clear plastic with a square and the letter "C" inside the square on the cleanable tub (above the water level marks).

Does the standard tub say "distilled water only" somewhere and the other one not?

Don't know about the dishwasher cleanable one as I evidently have the standard tub - white- light grey tab and square after "HumidAir" has an S in it. It does say "distilled water only".

TangledHose, sounds like you have both flavors. Does the cleanable tank say "distilled" as well?

No it does not, only on the standard tub does it say......"Distilled Water Only" that is embossed on the forward air tube, but that does not appear on the cleanable tub. I do have both, I alternate them, and I have noticed that the metal portion of the cleanable tub is more robust than the standard tub, probably just the coating on the metal, but my standard tub is showing some heat degradation in the metal and my cleanable tub is not showing any of this.......the heat is from the heat plate, neither tub has been in the dishwasher. I use a good source of distilled water in both tubs - never have any deposits in either tub and I rarely clean them. Have been running my Airsense for over a year now.

I wouldn't bother with the dishwasher safe tub. I wash my standard tub along with my hose and mask on Saturday morning. It adds less than a minute to the whole process.
