Pressure vs AHIs
Pressure vs AHIs
Lately my AHIs are increasing even though my leaks are zero. I have been using a pressure of 14 and want to ask if a higher pressure will lower the AHIs? AHI's have been creeping up for the last 5 weeks after being low----like 5-8 and now I'm seeing numbers in the 20s. Many thanks!

Hi... we'd like to help, but you've given us pretty much nothing at all to go on. No machine name or model #, no mask type, no indication about anything at all changing in your life or environment that might matter, etc. etc. Are you using any software to monitor therapy every night? Please try to fill in some blanks and we'll try to help.

This would be like asking an automobile forum why my gas mileage was getting worse......with no other information to go on.
If you're using software like Sleepyhead, you should know the answers to your questions.

Try raising the pressure slowly while monitoring the results and see if the AHI starts dropping.

Re: Pressure vs AHIs
If the apneas are not obstructive, raising the pressure will not help. If they are obstructive, it might.
Lowering the pressure could reduce AHI by reducing central apneas or reducing pressure related disturbances which are recorded by the machine as events but are not.
Without the software, it is pretty tough to tell.
