Re: Newbie intro and first month impressions
Sounds like you have a great attitude, enjoyed the funny post, and that is probably most important. I clean all my stuff roughly once a week, including the hose. There are those that say there is no way it could get contaminated. But I'm pretty sure I have sneezed into my mask at least one. And I am...

As it turns out, we decided to not mess with success and stay the course. Thanks for the comments anyway.

Re: New prescription today for BiLevel/BiPap, I think
If you need to change machines right now and use SleepyHead right now, push for the PR 760 AutoBiPap. Some are still available new from DMEs. Otherwise keep and eye out for a lightly used one on this forum or post asking for one. If you are willing the wait until the new version of SleepyHead is re...

New prescription today for BiLevel/BiPap, I think
Hi all: Five months in. Started on fixed CPAP at 6.0. Not good results. Worked with Pugsy to raise pressure incrementally and switched to APAP mode. Now in a high, tight range of 18.0-20.0cm with an AHI generally below 2.0. She suggested I probably needed a Bi-level/Bipap since the pressure needs to...

Philips Respironics System One (60 Series) RemStar Auto with A-FlexModel 560P - P14572839FEC6 PAP I dunno if you want to bother changing it, but out of all that you've got in your sig, the only part that isn't redundant respironics marketing speak is "560p" they've been using remstar for many many ...

Re: cpap not taking care of apnea
I have been using a cpap for over 2 yrs. They have never been able to get the ahi's where they wanted to. They have tried the auto setting and thought the setting of 13 was the answer. This then didn't work. I had a repeat sleep study which said my setting should be 6. The ahi was 21 at home when t...

Re: newbie with a # of questions
There is an "acceptable" rate of leakage that the machine can compensate for. That is acceptable from a treatment standpoint. It is NOT acceptable if it is waking you up or causing you discomfort, i.e, blowing air in your eyes. It took me a while fiddling around with the straps to find my sweet spot...

Re: Going downhill again!
Well got the events down to 1.5 last night! Still feel like crap today but think it's where I haven't had proper sleep for a week. Going to try and sleep as much as possible now to recouperate, so badly want to get back to how I was feeling a week ago! That's better. Always going to be bumps in the...

Re: Hello, new user here
Hi Murdock, Yes, got distilled water from Walmart last night. Cool. Thanks. (I think I got my profile problem fixed.) I also took my mask off a few times at the beginning while I was asleep. It takes your brain a little while to get used to having this thing on your face at night. Hopefully as you ...

Re: 80 events an hour
I If i keep wearing this mask will my events per hour decrease ? That is entirely the point of the treatment. To get your events down to 5.0 or hopefully less per hour. I have no idea what settings the doctor prescribed for you. But the point starting out is to get used to regular use of the treatm...

Re: Hello, new user here
All of what you posted sounds normal. As far as the water in humidifier......I use distilled when home and wash the thing out once a week. No issues. I do not dump it every day.

Re: Going downhill again!
When I was sick.....late December....my events went way up for a week. Then back down as I recovered. And, the back sleeping doesn't help. Hang in there.

Re: 80 events an hour
Now you have me worried guys lol. Even though i have had my cpap machine a few days im still sleepy. Yes the Events per hour in the sleep report actually said 80.0! Is that very high? I just dozed off for 22 minutes with the mask on and it reads 30.0 events per hour . Yes, an 80 is high. 30 is stil...

Re: 80 events an hour
No im using Resmed and i looked on the Sleep Report section , i have just looked now after dozing off with the mask / machine off ... Usage hours - 0.22 Events per Hour-30.0 I slept 22 minutes and had 30.0 events .. So im must have severe sleep apnea ?? Sounds like you do, although more data is bet...
