Giving thanks to Mark for SH

Post by grybeard77 » Wed Nov 25, 2015 4:06 pm

In 2013, NateS posted a way to support Jedimark for all his work in creating Sleepyhead and for all the updates even while Mark was having some health problems. Thanksgiving 2015 is upon us and we all need to thank Mark for his dedication to keep SH up and running. I just posted some thanks to Mark via PayPal and invite any fans of SH to send some $$ to Mark and lots of thank you's as well.

go to "Sourceforge.net" and click on the 'donate' button and it will take you to the Paypal site.

Happy Thanksgiving to all

A month or two ago I Paypal'd Mark some money. I hope all SH users do the same... it's the right thing to do, especially if you use the program.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

Done!

Many thanks to Mark for all his work. Where would we all be without him? Scary to think about it.

Happy Thanksgiving ( and to all - a good night).

Excellent idea, happy thanksgiving! As far as I'm concerned this should be a sticky in the forum.

For those who don't have the link handy: http://sourceforge.net/projects/sleepyhead/
and the Paypal link is on the upper right.

A few people I know are dead set against Paypal, one of my in-laws included. There's probably a few here also. I love Paypal (speaking for myself) but I wonder is there's another way to donate to Mark I kinda remember from a few years ago that he had a PO Box or something in Aussie land. In that case, a check would work, I suppose... maybe somebody else knows those details. If you send Mark money via Paypal, be sure to do so using the 'friends and family' option so more money gets thru.

Think about it CPAP'ers. What is the first thing you do in the morning after grabbing a cup of coffee? Yea, I know, you plug in your SD card and load your sleep data into SH. I can tell you that a day doesn't go by for me to do this at 4:45 am here in Alabama. Sleepyhead has never failed me. After this Christmas season and when entering the new year, I will donate another CNote to the Jedi. Hope you are doing well Mark. Godspeed to you and may the force be with you. You have my pledge of honor.

Since keeping this thread near the top is only a good thing, I figure an off topic post is OK. Out of sheer curiosity, I hope you don't mind if I ask - were you also up so early before you were a CPAP user?

Not me.....I think SH is great, but I download my data whenever I think of it...usually 7-10 days. I glance at my LCD screen every AM. That's all the data I need. My AHI runs 1.5-2.5 on a regular basis. Why would I need to see the charts every day? I don't even know why saving old data is important. Who will ever look at it. I'm only concerned with how I am doing today...not how I was doing a year ago.

Yep. Up early due to work. Live on CST and work on EST therefore I lose an hour in the morning. I look at SH everyday to learn. I have been diagnosed with OSA only 1 1/2 years. Still learning a little I guess.

Thanks for answering. I was just curious, I want to transition to a 5 AM wake up time myself.

Thanks for all the effort that went into Sleepyhead and the continued work to keep it updated. I think that most of us on the forum are grateful to you to as we continue the journey. I have made a small donation and hope that others will do the same to show their appreciation. Joel

Mark, and SH, have been so important to me this year that I'd be a real "turkey" not to donate!

Happy Thanksgiving and thanks for the reminder, grybeard86!

PayPal

There are lots of horror stories about PayPal, but they're mostly from people who receive money from PayPal. If you're sending money through PayPal, there's little risk. Don't link it to a bank account. I also remove my credit card from my PayPal account every time I make a transaction, so that if my account gets hacked, the hacker won't be able to charge my credit card.

The worst that's likely to happen is if you buy something, you might not get a refund, and, from what I hear, PayPal tends to side with the payer, unless there's something unusual.
