It could be nothing, or you could be dying. Hard to tell over the internet.

A lot of things do change as your body adjusts to CPAP. Your body adjusts to untreated apnea. You have stress, poor sleep, oxygen deprivation, etc. When you stop having apnea, the things your body did to deal with apnea leave you "out of balance" for a while. It's a bit like stopping smoking, drinking, taking drugs (legal or illegal), etc. These "withdrawal" symptoms tend to go away after a while.

If it is related to CPAP, it doesn't seem to happen to a lot of people, so we don't have good suggestions. You might try varying your sleeping position, arm position, pillows, blankets, etc. You could be cutting off your circulation because you're lying in one position instead of tossing and turning.

Sign up for an ID and fill in the equipment on your profile. There's a link in my signature line at the bottom of this post. If you have a good CPAP machine, you can check the data yourself to be sure that your therapy is working properly.

I have developed the same issue since the start of using the CPAP machine. I've been to my doctor, who referred me to a hand doctor, who now has referred me for a nerve study test. This sounds like a money maker at my expense. Thank you Dr. Obama.

If you've got carpal tunnel problems, or cervical (neck) ones, an EMG (electromyography) is very much indicated, but if you have the beginnings of diabetic neuropathy, you also want to check that out, and not speculate here.

New tingling sensations are nothing to be ignored. Get to a doctor.

Could it be you are sleeping better and staying in one position while you sleep is causing nerve compression? Whole hand? All fingers? Just the ring and pinky? Sounds like nerve compression to me.

Also consider any other changes that might be going on at the same time....are you starting or stopping any medications?

I've been dealing with numbness and tingling in my hands as well as "electrical zappy" feelings for a few months now and I thought Parkinson's had come to get me (my mother died of it in '11) BUT - I'm also tapering on and off a variety of medications for depression and fibromyalgia. My doc tells me that these feelings are often side-effects of the meds and/or the process of changing them.

Horses before zebras, always. Take your feelings seriously but also keep your mind open to a variety of causes. Hope your doc is able to help you pinpoint the cause.

Chances are your side sleeping or sleeping in a position that is reducing or cutting off circulation to your hand.
discuss it with your doctor to see if it is a health concern in your specific condition.
I have had this happen to me and my doctor felt it was a symptom of the blood pressure medication i take.
In my case as long as I move and exercise my hand the numbness quickly goes away.
My doctor said if it didn't go away or it happened when I was standing up then it could be a sign of a stroke and I should seek medical attention immediately.

Your finger tingling could be a whole host of things. Mom had finger tingling (and numbing), which turned out to be spinal stenosis.
My advice would be to first see your primary care physician. Then go from there.

I had this last year, and went directly to my doctor.
After several weeks of physical therapy, the problem was solved, (((it was WORK)))
and I now know how to maintain my range of motion and strength to prevent a recurrence.

It's always better to revive a old post, instead of putting a little effort into starting one yourself, providing helpful info, and then calling a real doctor for a opinion. NOT!

I had that when a child, I'd set in a recliner with my arm dangling over a heat vent until it fell asleep, I thought I was funny. Now when it happens and it does a few times a day, it's not so funny, now I know what it is. For me it's heart failure 35% heart function, low pulse, diabetes, ect! jim

"Someone" ? No doctor around?

Any stranger who would randomly 'diagnose' you over the internet knowing not even your name would be so irresponsible you would not want their opinion. Ridiculous!
