When I do wash my cushion (which is rare)...I use liquid hand soap. My cushions last for up to a year and would go longer, but I replace at a year.

Ivory soap contains skin softeners which will leave a film on the silicone. That's why it is not crystal clear. To me it just replaces the facial oil on the mask with more oil from the soap so its not doing a thing for the seal. I have been using Dawn also and have had excellent results. I have used other soaps when in hotels and dawn was not available and do not do as good a job of cleaning. So I am sticking to Dawn. I have been using the same masks for two years now with no degradation that I can detect.
