Re: Travel Options for Central Sleep Apnea?! BIPAP?

I have my not so new (last Thanksgiving) Resmed Aircurve 10 ASV, my Daily Driver. I have my old (16,000+ hours) Now my travel machine. My really Old Philips ASV (also 16,000+ hours) Was my travel machine before I got my newest machine. My travel machine stays in the travel case, except when I am usi...

Re: New ResMed S10 AirCurve ASV - Need opinions on performance and settings

I was going to post my settings for you. I have been on ASV for about 10 years now and I am also using an Aircurve 10 ASV. But after looking at your charts I am not going to bother. You are all ready doing much better than I am. I only get Zero 5 or 10 times a year. I still get a 5 or 6 occasionally...

Re: Cascading problems-is it my machine?

Do you know what your machine settings are? It sounds like it is set from 4 to 20. That is not working for you. My wife started CPAP las t Christmas. I set her Airsense 11 at 7 to 12 cm H2O. A similar adjustment will limit the machines ability to "blow the mask off your face". You will need to get i...

Re: Holiday/Vacation Usage Importance & Cleaning......

I am also relatively new at this, started September 2010. When I travel I carry an extension cord and an octopus. I will unplug lamps, clocks, radios, refrigerators etc. if they don't have a convenient outlet. Some hotels have these cute little signs that say "Do Not Disturb". Do you wash your linen...

Re: Overnight oximetry report

I have used that O2 adapter in the past. it would go on the mask end of the heated hose, not near the machine. I also use a SleepWeaver Feather Weight Tube. I would place the O2 adapter between the heated hose and the SleepWeaver Feather Weight Tube then the mask on the end of the SleepWeaver Feathe...

Re: Replacing parts on Air sense 11

Everyone stole my thunder. I like to keep 2 backup hoses 2 backup water chambers and since most DMEs don't like to stock or even order my Sleepweaver 3D mask I like to keep several on the shelf. I also keep a backup/travel machine. I have lots of filters, but I just discovered Amazon sells a 60 pack...

Re: How do I help my Father with CPAP

I am far from an expert, but I agree with ojig. I would turn off epr. I would also adjust minimum to 6 or 7 and bump maximum to 11 or 12. That is where I started my wife last Christmas and I don't remember her having a night over 2 AHI and usually below 1 AHI. As far as mask leaks I have been fighti...

Re: How do I help my Father with CPAP

I have been on PAP therapy since 2010. Thankfully Pugsy was here back then to help me get started, along with many others. The only full face mask I have found, that doesn't wind up in my mouth is the F&P 431. I only have a couple dozen different masks in my collection. Of course I am a youngster on...

Re: Best airflow nasal mask

My wife just started PAP last Christmas. Thankfully I have been on the hose for 14 years, and trained by Pugsy and Robysue. I have had to train the RTs at Crapria every step of the way. They brought out an Airsense 10 when we ordered the Airsense 11. I insisted on a mask with hose connection at the ...

Re: For anyone considering Medicare

My spreadsheet format is very simple. Left column lists all of the typically covered items, as can be found at Medicare.gov. You can add in anything you like such as DME details (mask, headgear, filters, etc), Chiropractic, Dentist, Optical. Next a column for how many of each item. Then 2 columns fo...

Re: For anyone considering Medicare

IF we get that far I let them know my birthday was in 1845. After they confirm what I said a couple times the line goes dead. As to advantage plans I have used them successfully for 14 years. I do a spreadsheet every year where I attempt to determine my needs for the year, Doctor visits, DME, Labs, ...

Re: Central Apneas on Resmed Aircurve S11 VAuto

I guess I have been very lucky. Three years on S9 Auto and I got a new in lab sleep Study/Titration (can't remember why). Got my new Philips ASV immediately. 4 more years, saw a deal on Resmed Aircurve 10 ASV and bought it. Never learned the details of Apnea only the broad strokes. Have always, sinc...

Re: Filters

Thank you Pugsy. I was about to order some, and I thought it would be a good idea to check in here. I got tired of fooling around with Crapria and Supercare Health. So I placed a first time order for my wife's supplies from CPAP and discovered they offer 25% off the first order for a new customer. P...
