airfit p10 vs swift fx
I've been using the Airfit P10 since I started CPAP 6 months ago. I tried a couple other masks just for comparison, but I didn't like them and returned them. Though the mask is fine still even after 6 months, I'll probably order another one to have as backup. Since it's been working fine for me I'll...

How often do you replace your mask?
I started CPAP about 6 months ago and have been using an Airfit p10 that I like, no problems. It's been 6 months and I haven't replaced it yet. Everything works fine, no leak, tight seal. Is there any reason to replace the nasal pillow or mask if everything seems to work fine? I thought the recommen...

Re: American Home Patient & Cigna - no prices?
I started CPAP about 3 months ago. I got my machine and mask through American Home Patient, no problems so far to speak of. I ordered another mask and replacement pillow through cpap.com figuring it would be a lot cheaper. I got a call today from American Home Patient saying it's time to replace my...

Re: DreamWear air flow
I wanted to like it, but I returned it. I'm wondering if my breaths are too deep or something and anything other than a nasal pillow will have a hard time providing me with enough air. The feeling I had was like breathing through a paper bag. I could get enough air, but it was work. I don't feel tha...

Re: My husband just doesn't understand.
If it were a choice between feeding the kids and getting a mask, then it would be more of a problem. Does your husband buy coffee in the morning? Buy lunch? Do you have cable? Not that you should pick a fight with him on his spending, but geesh. This is your health. That should trump any discretiona...

Re: DreamWear air flow
If you are struggling to get air, your pressure may be to low. What is the pressure range on your machine? Are you using Sleepyhead to check your data? The machine is set from 5-20. SH reports my average pressure is somewhere between 6-7. I could bump up the starting pressure I suppose, which I did...

Re: DreamWear air flow
Have you ever used a regular nasal mask before? Or are you only used to pillows? To be honest, I think it is only a matter of perception (i.e. it is in your head). You are getting the exact same air flow and pressure that you are getting with the P10, it just isn't being directly blown into your no...

DreamWear air flow
I normally use an airfit P10 nasal pillow mask, which I haven't had problems with. I thought I'd try the new DreamWear, which has gotten good reviews here, and I liked the hose coming off the back of my head instead of in front of my face. I tried it a couple times, and I felt like I was struggling ...

Re: Getting the wife on board (help!)
I'm surprised that noise is an issue. I have only been using the P10, and I can't hear any noise from it or the machine. I understand different mask types have different levels of noise, but are they really so much louder than the P10 to cause a light sleeper problems? The only noise problem I have ...

Re: Seriously, how often do you replace your masks?
Since my insurance sucks (I have a high deductible plan Having a high deductible does not mean an insurance plan "sucks". I chose a high deductible plan because it saves me on premiums, and I have no chronic health problems which will run up my costs of deductibles. Others have high deductible plan...

Re: Seriously, how often do you replace your masks?
I'm new here, and haven't yet hit the schedule for replacement. Since my insurance sucks (I have a high deductible plan, which means I pay a lot before insurance kicks in), I probably won't be replacing anything if it's still functional. Plus there are the environmental costs besides monetary to con...

Re: Dream Wear Mask - My opinion
I just used mine for the first time last night. Overall, I liked it a lot, but will need to tweak it a bit. I did not really have the time to mess with it much until it was actually time to go to sleep. I had planned to use my stand-by mask (Resmed Activa LT), but figured, wtf, might as well put th...

Why read or watch TV with mask on?
In mask descriptions and comments here, it seems some people read or watch TV with their mask on. I don't understand why this is done? If you are awake, is the mask really doing anything for you?

P10 - medium or large pillows
The medium pillow on the P10 fits my nose the best. However, the openings are a bit smaller than those on the large pillow, and it's a noticeable difference in breathing effort. Because of this, I've been using the large pillows even though they feel a little big for my nose. Has anybody tried makin...
