Leaking mask

Post by vtdumptrucker » Tue Oct 13, 2015 3:50 am

Hi everyone. I have a nasal mask (wisp) that I can't get to seal most times. I am on a high pressure of 21. I will try to reseat mask and some times this works but most times it won't seal. I have resorted to wearing my mask real tight and this doesn't even work most of the times not to mention it can be very sore by morning. Is there anything that works better with high pressure. It is so frustrating that sometimes it makes me so mad that after messing with it for an hour I will take it off and not use it.

thanks

Have you not tried various full face masks? Other nasal masks? Mask liners?

What about nasal pillows? And don't believe the incorrect information that they can't be used a higher pressures. Anyway, might be worth a shot.

Either the mask is not fit properly or it's not a good mask for you. Be sure to go to the manufacturer's website as they usually have videos showing you how to fit the mask. Have you tried the other sizes of cushions that came with the mask (unless your DME stole them out of the package)???

You do not have to put up with a leaky mask that simply won't work for you. Call the DME and ask for an exchange. Manufacturer's have a program to swap out masks that don't work without cost to the DME, so don't let them try to charge you out of pocket for a new mask unless it's been more than 30 days.
