shorter tubes?

Post by Cpappa » Sat Oct 10, 2015 2:12 pm

I have never seen anything less than a 6' tube. Is that a minimum requirement or can they be shorter, like 2' perhaps. 6' seems awfully long for a unit that sits next to me on a nightstand. Does anyone here have some knowledge about that?

Just use a hose management system.

That "Thin 4 Foot Performance Tubing" looks perfect. But are you sure it will work properly with a Full Machine? The description specifies the Z1.

It should work fine with your machine but if in doubt, ask cpap.com before ordering. If you are a back sleeper, you may not need that 6 feet. But if you turn over, you do. I used to sleep in a waterbed and never turned over, so I know that happens. I miss my waterbed.

Are you sure you want a shorter hose? I don't move around a lot but I occasionally roll over and pull the machine with a 6 foot hose.

I've wondered about that, too. Especially when the endless length of tubing falls down behind the table and then snags of the table edge, and all of a sudden I'm on a really "short leash"! It's like how you are more likely to cut yourself with a dull knife than a sharp one...

You could try a four foot length by looping you hose with a soft tie near the machine outlet to see how a shorter length works.I keep my machine almost on the floor. I have a rectangular sea grass basket with a hinged lid I got at Michael's for under 10 dollars. my machine, hose masks and filters all fit under the lid. Mostly the machine sits on the floor on top of the closed box but if I want it out of sight I put all in the box close the lid and slip it under the bed. I have a six-foot heated hose plus a Circadience 18 inch(abt) quick release extender with an 8ft fleece hose cover. I sleep on both sides and occasionally my back and my hose is never in the way. If it is cold I keep my hose under the covers with me for the warmth otherwise most of the extra hangs off the bed on top of the machine. Try your machine lower and the hose might stay out of your way. I I used a four foot hose my machine would be pulled off a table top. Good luck it took quite a while for me to find a way to deal with my unruly hose
