New to Cpap , advice please

Post by Bettylou » Wed Dec 24, 2014 5:32 pm

Hi, I've had a Cpap for 6 weeks and have suffered watery eyes, chafing over my nose from the mask and no real improvement in my energy levels. I've stopped snoring and no longer wake up with a headache which is a bonus but I have been experiencing vertigo type symptoms in the day time almost like my oxygen levels have dropped as if my airway collapses during the day as well as at night. Anyone else experience anything similar?

Sign up and fill out you equipment.

There are lots of tricks and help we can give but unless we know what equipment you are driving it is hard to give advice.

I have been using my CPAP machine for just under a year, and the watery eyes thing I noticed right away. the sleep mask helps, but I feel too closed-in with it on. Lately I have been using a dab of vaseline in the corner of my eyes before bed, and that has been helping a lot. I don't know if it makes a better seal on your eye, or if it just keeps the tear duct from drying out.
It works for me.

Register, then click on User Ctl Panel under the logo on the left, go to Profile and use the 'text' option to fill in complete names of your machine & mask, as well as your pressure settings. These will show up under every note in future so we all know what you're using and it'll help giving advice (try to stick to the one thread too please).
