Re: Comparing the Philips Respironics DreamStation BiPAP AutoSV (ASV) with the ResMed AirCurve 10 ASV BiLevel?
There are some differences between the algorithms for ResMed and Philips. A few people can notice the difference but most cannot. If you are comfortable with your current Philips machine, I do not recommend switching just in case you are one of those folks. The Philips can take a cellular modem as a...

Re: Advice on getting new machine
The only suggestion I have is that to try not dong the intellectual stuff in the 2-4 hours before going to bed. Then, if (when) you wake up during the night and can't go right back to sleep (10 minutes or so) , get up, go to a different room and read something that is mildly boring or listen to "ele...

Re: Oracle
Contact me for help in adapting to the Oracle mask.
If you can persist until your brain learns how to not nose breathe, the mask will work very well.
BTW swimmers nose clips were a nightmare for me.
I have some nose clips that do actually work.

Re: CPAP machine "serviced", not replaced
Over the years I had problems with a PR Series 50 machine - Philips replaced it, with two different Series 60 machines, Philips replaced both of them, with two different DreamStation machines, Philips repaired them (took two trips with one of them). I think Philips has made the cost analysis to repa...

Just a question about tidal volume
I've been tracking all sorts of breathing data coming from my machine. Does anyone have a feeling for variation in Tidal Volume. Mine varies from a low of 540 to a high of 690 with the average hovering about 600. So the question is, does anyone track their Tidal Volume and, if so, how much variation...

Re: My Phillips System 1
For years my Phillips System 1 Respironics CPAP machine sat unused until I finally found a mask comfortable enough for me to use with it. After only six months an alarm started going on telling me it needed service or repair. But now Philips says it has no parts or service for System 1. I don’t wan...

Re: Long time user but couldn’t breath out last night
Please clarify: did the breathing difficulty continue after removing the mask? If, not, did it resume after re-masking up? The only time I experienced this kind of event was a power failure and I was trying to breathe through the machine. The anti-asphyxia valve is supposed to help in that case but ...

Re: DreamStation AutoCPAP machines with a defect
The "problem" is a defective sensor on the main board. I've had the main board replaced twice on my machine and the "problem" seems to be under control.
In prior years (with system One Series 60 machines) the Respironics response to a main board failure was to replace the machine not repair it.

Re: OSCAR v1.1.0 is now Released!!
Doesn't work well for me. The data reported is wildly different from Encore. Submitted files to the developers.
I'm glad it does work for most folks.

Re: Cpap with oxygen
The only question is the safety of letting the O2 run for a few minutes while you're off to the loo. The air volume in your room is very significantly larger that the few liters of O2 you concentrator will put out during your night time adventure - BTW its this same O2 that just got pulled out of th...

Re: SD Import used to work In OSCAR
It may be that the SD card has failed in some way. Does it show up on the laptop when you look at storage devices (from your post it sounds as if the laptop can see it, but I like to double check in case I misunderstood something.) If the computer can see it, can you get to the place where the syste...

Re: Conflicting Time Info on OSCAR
Your data for this one day has four sessions (machine off and back on starts a new session)
You are displaying the third session and the times for it are the same as in the graphic display.
It's complicated sometimes.
