Re: still struggling
I would look into the various mask liners. I had a lot of leakage issues till I found those. +1 Liners are great solution to plug up the leaks. Plus it helps to have a material on your face and NOT the mask directly on your skin. https://www.cpap.com/productpage/remzzzs-full-face-cpap-mask-liners.h...

Re: what do you do when you have allergies?
I am very allergic to Ragweed pollen(it's that time of year again). My first allergy season was terrible. I had one sinus infection after the next, it was horrible. I discovered the inline bacterial filters: https://www.cpap.com/productpage/generic-bacteria-filter-cpap-machines-10-pack.html 8 hours ...

Re: Does heart rate increase during an apnea event?
Just thinking ... if you're low oxygen it makes sense to me that your heart rate would increase. Not for me but a friend who has some WILD ups and down with her heart rate at night, and also has signs of sleep apnea. Show your friend this youtube video it will help them understand what is going on:...

Re: Improving Brain Function
I have done some reading on coconut oil.. They say the coconut has ketones which helps the brain. Lots of information out about it: http://www.alzheimers.net/2013-05-29/coconut-oil-for-alzheimers/ https://www.agingcare.com/articles/coconut-oil-and-alzheimers-157103.htm This article is about a doctor...

Re: New here. Used CPAP for first time last night.
your AHI is supposed to 5 or less. Download the SleepyHead software and see what is going on. Most likely you had mask leaks and that is the cause of the high AHI,
but without the software to read the data it is any ones guess.
I wish you well..

Re: Progress with CPAP but not sleeping enough
I do get enough exercise, I play 18 holes of golf most days in the AM and I walk it. ( at least 4.5 miles ) My biggest concern is if I take a nap I won't be able to fall asleep that night. What I would suggest is that when you get tired to take a "POWER NAP" set your alarm for 10 to 20 minutes. Sle...

Re: RemZzzs work?
Yes I have used them and they work beautifully.. The cost on them is a bit steep if you use them like they describe.
I actually went to the Joann Fabric Store and bought t-shirt material and then just cut my own using theirs has the outline.
They work great.

Re: Depression, Suicide, Sleep Apnea and CPAP.
use it while you watch tv, your brain will get use to it and you won't notice its there. don't get frustrated, when you wake up read a book using incandescent non blue spectrum light, till you get sleepy again. no computer, iphone etc. sleep hygiene is very important once the apnea is being treated...
