Re: Allergies and CPAP

I am very allergic to Ragweed pollen. My first allergy season was terrible. I had one sinus infection after the next, it was horrible. I discovered the inline bacterial filters: https://www.cpap.com/productpage/generic-bacteria-filter-cpap-machines-10-pack.html It solved my horrible problem. I was s...

Re: Best FF Mask for Higher Pressures

I use the Zzz-Mask Full Face CPAP Mask by Probasics. I like that it does not have the forehead support, and more then anything else I like the price. Compared the price to Resmed masks this mask is half price, and the replacement cushions are about half also. The mask works well for me, but every on...

Re: Does Bacterial Filter Block Humidity?

I have the Icon Auto CPAP which has a poor quality filter and doesn't block enough allergy triggers. I also need a lot of humidity. Will the bacteria filters block humidity? https://www.cpap.com/productpage/generic-bacteria-filter-cpap-machines-5-pack.html Those filters are my life saver especially...

according to the medical community your AHI should be below 5.

Re: Introduction - Newly Diagnosed with Sleep Apnea

You know, I didn't exactly come here to have my machine choice criticized. If I had waited until my bonus to buy a $1000 machine I'd be without anything for another two months. I know you mean well, but a simple "welcome to the forum" would have been more appreciated. As I said, I purchased this ma...

Re: Introduction - Newly Diagnosed with Sleep Apnea

Hey guys, just wanted to introduce myself. I was recently diagnosed with severe sleep apnea (18 episodes/hour). In a way, I'm actually glad that I've finally been diagnosed with this. Over the past few years I've been slowly becoming more and more fatigued on a daily basis, and my quality of life h...

Re: Backup machine? What happens when it quits

I've been using my cpap machine for a few years now. I'm concerned about it quitting on me and I'll be stuck trying to sleep without it. That really scares me. Is there a way to buy a "backup" cpap that doesn't cost an arm and a leg? I'm currently using a Philips Respironics REMstar Pro C-Flex+ wit...

Re: Room Humidifier

I use the Vick's cool air humidifier during the winter when the furnace is running and drying out the house. Cool air humidifier is supposed to be germ free. This is my 3rd winter season with it and has worked well for me.

Good Luck!

Re: 8 months in and a lot of questions!

Well dry throat and headaches sounds to me that the air is going the wrong way. You don't mention what your pressure is set at and could be it is opening your mouth and air is escaping. You may have to consider a full face mask to keep the air escaping out from your mouth. I am not familiar with you...

Re: Few Questions About Sleep Apnea

1) Tried using my Nasal Pillow Mask. Used machine + humidifier. Why halfway through my sleep did I feel discomfort in my nose and take the mask off, despite using the humidifier? 2) When will my depressive symptoms from sleep apnea disappear, after continual sleep/CPAP usage? 3) What are the side e...
