Re: Do you have a regular Dr and a sleep Dr?

I have a primary doc and a sleep doc. When I brought up the possibility of OSA, my primary gave me a referral to a sleep doc that his nurse used to work for.

Re: Very old CPAP machine...

+1 for Craig's List. Some time ago, I picked up a under 70 hour PRS1 w/humidified, hose, 2 masks, and a hose for $175 shipped.

Most people selling xPAP machines do not know what they are selling so you will have to email them about model numbers and hours used.

Re: Updating the firmware on the PR System One machines

there has to be a a way to flash the firmware.... why has no one released info on how to flash firmware updates ?? The information has been posted here before. You need 1. The update file 2. Re: Anyone here lose weight successfully after starting CPAP?

The first year I was on the machine I lost 0 pounds. I actually gained weight. It wasn't until I started eating right, gave up fast foods, gave up junk foods, gave up soda, and started exercising that I began to lose weight. xPAP alone isn't going make you lose weight. Wouldn't it be great if it did...

Re: cpap

No, I would say he had a bad night at the sleep study. Possible causes: 1. He didn't get any sleep. 2. He got some sleep but can't stand the mask. 3. He was told that he will be using the CPAP for the rest of his life. 4. He is in denial that he has a problem. 5. Any combination of 1-4. Did you ask ...

Re: OT: overweight-man-kicked-off-southwest-flight

I blame the airlines and the plane designers. Current standard coach seat widths range from 17 to 19 inches between the armrests.

If I built a box 19 inches wide how many of you could fit into it, shoulders and all? Not many but the airlines expect us to and get mad when we don't.

Re: CPAPmax Pillow smells awful!

How about:
1) letting it off-gas for a few days
2) put it in the dryer for a spin with a fabric softener sheet
3) seal it up in a bag with baking soda for a few days

If you can return it what do you have to lose?

2nd vote for Papflask. I've taken it on a few flights with no questions asked.

Re: Question for battery experts: proper inverter?

The Minn-Kota box has got me thinking that with all the separate components I've got, there's probably a way to make a decent-looking box myself that would do the same thing - maybe from a mid-sized plastic tool box or something ... The 4x4 trip sounds like the experience of a life time. Look into ...

Re: Question for battery experts: proper inverter?

I know you said you didn't want to spend more money but consider these items. It will wrap everything up in one neat package. If you bump up to a larger battery you could possibly run the humidifier as well. DC cable - no need for an inverter. https://www.cpap.com/productpage/respironics-12volt-dc-p...

Excellent suggestion.

This forum needs a rating system. I'd give this post a +1 for being informative.

Re: More fun with my DME

I'd like to say that this is an isolated incident but rather large number of people here will tell you otherwise. You are better off doing what you did. Look up the part numbers and tell the DME to order it by part number. My DME informed me that PR had discontinued the white performance hose and th...
