Re: resmed s7
Everybody has already said it all - old, outdated equipment has little value whether it is brand new in the box or used. I suggest listing it on Craigslist for $35 and then it is out of your way quickly and permanently. You should have sold it years ago when it still had value.

So you just languish in the misery of untreated sleep apnea? That's a much worse mistake that overestimating the market value of an old CPAP.dt67 wrote: we have no support where we live so I could not get it to work for me.

dt67, Do you realize you can get much better support from this forum than from any medical professionals?

Most likely this will not resonate with you, Choker, but most of my conservative friends do even more charitable work than I do (and I do quite a lot). BTW, I'm definitely a political moderate and have voted for several Republican candidates over the years. That said, I tithe to my church, have been involved in many charitable organizations, done charity walks/runs and so forth - this has been over the course of my life. Recently I was rebuilding old bicycles for underprivileged kids. I guess I'm sick and twisted liberal because I like to see their happy faces when presented with a rebuilt kid’s bike. A bag of groceries at Christmas is also another politically destructive act I like to perform. Choker, what do you care if I enjoy seeing happy people as I lend them a simple Christian helping hand? You can turn your back on me and my kind anytime you want, not to mention the poverty stricken folks out there. The Choker wrote:You must be a liberal. You know the machine is worthless. That's a liberal basic tenet - Intentions matter, never mind whether there are any good results.
It's true.
As a last note: Any CPAP that is tested and works will control OSA just fine and is certainly better than no machine at all. Not that high a percentage of people have complex sleep apnea. Outreach health programs, rehab facilities, homeless shelters, charitable organizations and halfway houses are always looking for older CPAP donations... not to mention Pugsy and a few others here at CPAPtalk.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

After decades of hearing only bad news about Walmart's typically low wages, union busting tactics, byzantine work hour demands, not to mention, heavy-handed management practices I'd be very surprised to hear about Walmart giving anything like that away unless it was just some short term drawing or contest. They should probably be giving their WORKERS six free weeks of groceriesButtermilkBuoy wrote:He's right. Just last year I read that they are heavily impacting our federal and state taxes because the majority of their workers qualify for food stamps and other poverty assist programs (which we subsidize with our taxes while Walmart gets a free lunch, so to speak) See below:
http://money.cnn.com/2013/06/04/news/co ... index.html
There are dozens of stories about this topic and also others on Walmart's various negative impacts on mom and pop stores, especially in small towns. just Google them and inform yourselves. Okay, I googled walmart six weeks free groceries and got zip, nothing even close. Big surprise.
And then there's just the fun stuff about the Walton kids and how they misbehave... TONS on the web about that:

Have you ever even shopped at a Walmart? Have you ever had a cup of coffee and a conversation with someone who works at Walmart?Sir NoddinOff wrote:After decades of hearing only bad news about Walmart's typically low wages, union busting tactics, byzantine work hour demands, not to mention, heavy-handed management practices I'd be very surprised to hear about Walmart giving anything like that away unless it was just some short term drawing or contest.
The six weeks is true. But you would not know it. I can tell from what you posted that you only read crap from liberal, elitist sources.

You obviously were in such a rush to spew your stupid polarized political venom that you didn't take the time to read my earlier reply about how I'm generally a moderate/independent (and occasionally a Republican voter). Weak.

I guess threads here still evolve and devolve. You never know what you will find under any thread subject.LSAT wrote:I'm waiting to see some proof...I still think this is BSHang Fire wrote:Walmart has you beaten. Since it doesn't seem that Hang Fire subscribed to the thread he posted in, I will explain.
This is a unique way of describing something that was found in a legitimate economic study. The study was done by one of the economic research groups at a major university. The research group did not make this characterization of their findings. They give their customers six weeks of free groceries every year.
But many people, who read such studies and are impressed by the value of markets to low income people, have made this characterization. They made it to better impress the truth onto people who are not inclined to read and understand such studies.
What the study found was all (weighted basket from all grocers) grocery prices fell by 12% in areas where Walmart opened a grocery store.
If your grocery prices fall by 12%, then over a year, 12% x 52 weeks = 6.24 weeks. So, Walmart "gives" you 6 weeks free groceries every year.
That study is a number of years old and I could not find it easily. But I did find another old study, https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q ... Jg&cad=rja, which gave these results, among others, in New England.
Or about 3.5 weeks "free groceries" every year, even if you shop at their competitors.Price reduction at Walmart competitors - 7.79% average price reduction in national brand goods and a 6.38% average price reduction in private label goods
If you shop at Walmart -
So depending on where you live, shop at Walmart and they will "give" you 8 to 12 weeks "free groceries" every year.Wal-Mart Supercenters also price their groceries on average 15.65% lower than supermarkets competing with Supercenters and 22.28% lower than supermarkets geographically distant from Supercenters.
Hang Fire was correct. If you read more sources that appreciate the value of markets, these things will quickly start to "click" for you.

Now Walmart has the Savings Catcher program. When I get home I log in and put in my receipt number. The Walmart system scans all the local print ads. If I paid more for any items than the sale price at another grocery store, Walmart gives me a store credit down to the competitors sale price.
This saves me from going to more than one store.

The BS callers got very quite. Seems you taught them a lesson in economics and saved me the trouble of looking for the studies.
