Here is a little something I found. I graduated public school, our history books didn't provide this and it was never taught. My Dad fought in WW 2, in Europe, growing up two "A Bombs", were the only story in the News, too many times our Governments hide the truth or downright lie about things that happen to us and around us. Gee Chunky, Thanks for calling my accent obnoxious and by the way, I was born in England DURING the war and had to evacuate to a bomb shelter several times. My dad was a Canadian soldier that arrived in Britain on DEC 31, 1939 and was deployed in all the rotten war areas (France, Africa, Italy and Germany, etc). He was not allowed to come home until Jun of 1945. How's that for fighting a long time.... way before the Americans joined in.

It has already passed, again without any mention from our wonderful news media but who
- remembers the day that Iraq invaded Kuwait?
- remembers where they were when they heard it?
- I had never heard of Kuwait never mind where it is/was
- nor did I have any idea how much it would affect my life or the world I live in.
- who remembers how we supported Iraq in the years before during the Iran/Iraq war?
None of this ever gets even one line on the anniversary date

When kuwait was invaded I was in the usaf set to retire in 2 months, 1 oct 90. my retirement date was locked unless the usaf decided to freeze my job. at the time it wasn't. so 2 weeks later i was on terminal leave, using my unused leave until my retirement date on my way from texas to florida. the only worry i had was if they decided to freeze my job before i officially retired i would have had to go back. well, they did freeze my job along with all medical jobs but it was after 1 oct 90 so was retired and didn't have to go back. the rest is history. that was 30 years ago. time sure flies.
