AHI of 0.0

Post by betam4x » Sun Oct 04, 2015 2:07 pm

SleepyHead thinks my AHI was 0.0 last night. Is this even possible? Note that my machine has the 1 day average at 2.0. Yesterday the AHI was 1.89 according to sleepyhead. I slept from 4am-2pm (couldn't fall sleep due to getting used to the mask still) this morning and well actually the same time yesterday morning. SleepyHead also recorded 5 events, 4 hypopneas and 1 vibratory snore. Note that I increased my PSMin by 0.5 prior to going to sleep last night.

BTW, my machine is a PR System One BiPap AutoSV Advanced (DS960HS), which isn't listed in the equipment options. My mask is the Wisp, which i love to death except my mouth opens up sometimes.

Congratulations.
Yes it's possible but uncommon.
Several folks here have done it. Many commonly are below 1.0.
Keep up the good work.

Congrats.
Yes, it is very possible to have 0.0 AHI. If you want to confirm it with Encore software you could but the software (Sleepyhead or Encore) only reports what the machine gathers. It's the machine that is doing the actual reporting and the software is just the messenger.
You sure have come a long way from your initial first nights of therapy.

We don't sleep the same each night so we expect our results to vary a bit from night to night. Most of my nights are AHI less than 0.5 with a lot of 0.0 nights but on occasion something goes whacko and I get some strange clustering of some sort of events and nothing has changed to get the blame.
That's when I just blame the aliens. You will have some nights where the aliens pay you a little visit too.
We have all had those visits from time to time.

Good job though and you have every right to give yourself a pat on the back.

Thanks! You guys helped out a lot. Taking what I've read on this forum along with the suggestions and advice allowed me to tweak things myself rather than wait several weeks for a doctor's appointment. It also helped me understand better what's going on. Looking forward to many more nights of good sleep!

I have done it several times but I sometimes wonder if it is because the machine misses things sometimes
