How to use mask sizing guide ?

Post by jmsnyc » Tue Sep 01, 2015 12:55 pm

I am planning on ordering the FP Simplus mask and found the sizing guide here: https://www.respshop.com/manuals/Simplus-respshop.pdf

It does not have instructions and looks confusing. Could someone provide tips on how to use it?

Thanks in advance!

So sorry, wish I could help. But that does look super confusing, like a rotating ferris wheel. Maybe somebody can assist you. I just had the same issue with the Airfit F10 and a paper template. I finally had to call Cpap.com (after 1 hour of being on "hold" on the phone) and they explained it better. Can you call the manufacturer or Cpap.com our wonderful website. They are very helpful.

So after printing the pink lines are clearer, however they made it super confusing my having sizing charts for different masks in the same print out. For the Eson you use the middle cut outs. For the Simplus which I am using, you cut around the outside perimeter and then hold the opening up to your face as per legend in lower right.

For Simplus you want the opening to start on the upper bridge of your nose just below your eyes and end on your chin

I hope I am correct.

I hope you saved the pdf file to your computer and printed with Adobe. This will allow you could set the print option "Actual Size" so it won't scale it down.

There is no need to save it to print it actual size.

It also has a ruler so you can verify that it did print actual size.

Any recommendations of where to buy a mask online ? Usually there is no exchange policy on masks ? I am actually thinking that is not a bad thing as I would not want to buy a mask someone else tried on .....

I would look at cpap.com...some of their masks come with free return insurance and some the return insurance costs a small fee which is better than losing over $100 when trying a new mask of some sort.
They allow returns but they don't sell them again.
Other places like Amazon don't normally allow returns.
Now if you are buying a mask that you already know works well then it doesn't matter but if trying something new then I would look at something with return insurance available.

Cpap.com return insurance...included free with some masks (have to check on which ones) or for a price...allows the option to return the mask (has to be back in cpap.com's hands within 30 days) and they will even email you a prepaid return shipping label.
