Water consumption

Post by Shinny » Thu Sep 03, 2015 9:00 am

For the past week or so I have noticed my humidifiers water consumption has increased dramatically. I am using the machine in a climate controlled environment which has not changed. Time in use or humidity settings have not changed.

Short of the temperature of the heating plate I can't figure out what is causing this.

Any thought will be appreciated.

Do you have access to your data, if not download sleepyhead (free). My 2 cents worth is that your mask is leaking or you are mouth breathing, if we had the ability to see your data we would be able to see if that is the case.
Welcome to the forum, you will be able to have all of your questions and problems fixed here.
Started cpap in 2010.. still at it with great results.

Nan is correct. Large leaks can cause more water consumption. Check your leak graphs from the software reports. See if there are any time periods where leaks were greater than usual.

From 1/4 tank per night to 3/8 tank per night?

From one tank per night to three tanks per night?

"Dramatically" is a poor quantifier. It might make a difference to know what order of magnitude you are talking about.

also, if the weather is drier, then the machines will use more water to compensate... the modern ones have humidistats in them to measure room moisture, instead of just dumbly heating the water to a set amount and hoping for the best.
