Sometimes cleaning the exhaust port will help on my ComfortGel mask. I think the new ComfortGel Blue mask is a little quieter, but I'm not sure.
The mask seems noisier at some times, even with the same pressure. I'm not quite sure why.

1) Tell her it stops you from snoring 2) Tell her it's an "inhaled substance abuse" device. You fill it with vodka or "special herbs." 3) Tell her it's an aroma therapy device. 4) If you need to wear it during sex, she's probably not the right girl for you, and you're definitely not the right guy fo...

Re: "lecture"
Get the billing straight. I know dealing with insurance is a painful affair. If the final answer from the insurance company is different from what you thought it would be, be sympathetic with the user, no matter how infuriating it is to you to deal with the insurance company. I'm not saying to make ...

I still see a couple green bars to the left and don't remember taking any daytime naps? Someone's sneaking into your house and using your machine when you're not there. Do you have a dog or cat? I've figured out the only way I can make any sense of my readings is to look at them the next day or so....

Re: I can't even get the meter set up! Any help?
I think that getting good oxygen readings or even fingertip pulse readings is a finicky process. It's a fairly new technology that has only become possible with newer electronics. It's not too surprising that it doesn't work right sometimes. I used to have problems getting any automatic blood pressu...

WhoDat, did you try the "forming" procedure where you put the cushion in hot water and customize it to your particular face?
I wonder if the Comfort Gel Blue has the same hot water forming feature?

1. Yes a standard 2 GB SD card will work fine. 2. The operating system, not the processor, is the issue with the Encore Viewer software that will not install on a 64-bit operating system. There are 64-bit and 32-bit versions available for the Encore Pro software. Dennis Thanks, Dennis. I wonder why...

Re: Mask Need a Script?
How do you suppose the FDA figures into this vast conspiracy theory that keeps you awake at night? (That's rhetorical, no need for an answer, btw...) I'll answer anyway. It's not a conspiracy in the sense that they have an official "Medical Conspiracy Commission" that meets in secret on a regular b...

This chart is confusing at first. The line labeled 6/16 runs from noon 6/16 to noon 6/17. Midnight is the middle of the chart where it's labeled "0" at the bottom. For a "normal" 8 hour 10PM to 6AM sleeping pattern, there would be one green bar roughly in the middle of each line. This chart seems to...

Re: my poor feet
I usually sleep in a recliner due to back problems and it also keeps me from rolling around onto my CPAP mask. I was having leg swelling problems, but only when I visited my dad and slept in his recliner. I changed to a different recliner in his house and my problems went away. I came to the conclus...

1) Will a "standard" 2 GB SD memory card work. i.e. does it need to be a "Respironics" SD card? 2) When dealing with 64 bit vs. 32 bit windows problems, it's the version of windows that matters, not the processor version that matters. i.e. I have a 64 bit processor in my PC, but I'm running 32 bit w...

Re: Terrible sore throat since, few weeks into cpap use
If your mouth is coming open, you can end up with a lot of air blowing through your nose and mouth, which will dry you out, even with a humidifier. Is it "dry mouth/throat" type of irritation? Does drinking water help? You might try a chin strap to keep your mouth closed. Some people even tape their...

Re: Mask Need a Script?
I suspect many insurance companies require a prescription as well. I'm wondering if the FDA requires it. FDA or not, no insurance company is going to pay for a mask without a prescription because that's one of the hoops you must jump through to get an insurer to pay. If your doctor didn't prescribe...

Interesting, that site indicates it's a recent change on masks. More ammunition for the medical mafia protection racket. (sigh)LinkC wrote: Or you can take the word of an online supplier:

Re: Mask Need a Script?
The FDA requires a script to purchase a mask. Is that true, or is that another rumor like "it's illegal to adjust your own CPAP machine?" I'm almost 100% certain that the last mask I bought had "RX REQUIRED" written in big letters on the insert in the bag. Thanks, but the mask manufacturer could wr...
